I'm not taking away from him or your statement, just adding a caveat.
It took a 28 punch + combination for Danny Williams to hammer Mike Tyson to the canvas '28 punches'. Tyson in that fight injured his knee, I think he had the awareness to get up but? He said the determination was not there 'The same injury effected him vs Mcbride'. But in all his loses, he fought incredibly hard until there was no more.

The false narrative that he would just disappear when faced with resistance 'Is a fairy tale, made up by people who dislike Mike Tyson'.

Compare Mike Tyson's loses to other all-time great fighters, and he really has no bad loses. It always took his opponent, their best performances to beat him.

Ray Leonard was being beaten up badly near the end of his career, Roy Jones Junior was being blasted out, Marco Antonio Barrera was beaten up badly by Amir Khan, Holyfield was unfortunately being beaten quite easily by James Toney'.

Mike Tyson in the latter part of his career, does not have those type of loses. During his loses, he was still competitive. That is all I am saying.

And if you check my other posts, it is also clear that historically he won his most defining fights. You don't become the biggest Icon in boxing since Muhammad Ali without winning a defining fight etc.

Guy, I was simply repeating what he said. He said he didn't have the heart for it.

I like Tyson. He was the man when I was coming up. In a lot of ways, he still is the man. But he said he didn't have the heart anymore.

I understand the statement. I don't fault him for it. But your statement didn't account this statement from him. If you want to twist it to say something else, that's fine. But it was his words; he quit because he just didn't have it anymore.

I know what he said. I am just giving you or anybody else reading this thread more context.

Nobody has twisted anything. This is boxing forum, people discuss boxing 'That is what I am doing'.

I have already made it extremely clear, and proven that Mike Tyson won his most defining fights. That was my ultimately my aim in this thread.

Everything else being discussed is a bonus.

You have to judge the man as fighter, by his actions. Mike Tyson was a warrior.

You are not really proving or disproving anything with your posts. You are focusing on comment, made by a retired boxer 'A comment he most likely made decades after fighting' It happens, fighters near the end of their careers can lose motivation.

If you understood the statement that Mike Tyson made, then you would not be trying to twist it. Because that is what you are doing, you are trying to twist what a retired boxer said 'And exaggerating it, and make out that he was a lesser fighter'.

The facts are, it took a beating, heavy sustained bombardment to beat Mike Tyson 'Every single time, even in the latter part of his career'. That is all am saying, the man was warrior and fought until there was no more'.

          Gennedy MONEY Golovkin

dude was pure money toward the end of his career. who cares about legacy.

he made more money than all those with better legacies.

          this is prize fighting.

He had such a rough beginning and ended up being the top 3 paid prize fighters of his era. Good for him.

ggg was a cautious fighter but i do think he would have taken bigger name fighters if they were there for him before nelo etc, unlike nelo he didnt enforce a weight clause on jacobs, he did get into wars and fought hard fights towards the end of his career, his style could be outboxed by very good guys i would say, i dont blame someone for sticking to a weight class

It's a good question. I think he'll be one of the best 160lb guys ever. Maybe 1 spot below Hagler right? But what is his really career defining win? Losing and drawing Canelo?

Not really a good luck or claim.

But he's definitely a HOF guy and might be top 3 all time for MW but if he is an ATG he's probably on the way far end of just barely qualifying and a lot of barely qualifying is down to his amateur career being incredible.

                - - Main claim is the plethora of fighters who ducked him.

Jacobs and Canelo the few who didn't. GGG emasculated the rest who did.

Monzon and Marv at least had masculine comp willing to make scratch line

you can't even pretend Sturm, Cotto and Ward didn't duck him.

They said it through their own LIPS

                  "I ain't fighting GGG at 164!" - Andre Ward

                  "I ain't fighting GGG at 168" - Andre Ward
