How are these guys supposed to build up their name to get casuals on board? No one but the hardcore fans are dropping $70 for a showcase fight. Nobody knows who Tank is outside of that.

This fight would have been on a HBO boxing after dark card 7-8 years ago. Would be surprised if it did much more than 50k.

Uhh, a lot of people know Tank who aren't hardcore fans. Dropping 70? Idk about that but they are popping up at the venues just to watch him at least. There's plenty of casuals who know him. It's likely a byproduct of pop culture with him rubbing elbows with rappers and all that.

Only anecdotal but the names I hear non boxing fans talk about the most are: 1) Canelo, 2) Tyson Fury and 3) Tank Davis. Tank is a distant third but I do get random coworkers or friends mention his name to me anytime he has an upcoming fight. It could be a regional thing as I live in the DMV area which isn't too far from Baltimore.

Also, how are they counting are they counting house sales or resellers? Takes time to get accurate gates.

But we’re supposed to take your word for it on the PPV buys? Where’s your proof? And it’s not like you don’t have an agenda.

PPV's across the board having been trending downward a few years now, especially the heavy ppv mismatches PBC has been forced to put on, so those numbers may very well prove to be true. Showtime is no longer releasing "official" #'s and we all know why.

Rick Glaser. Hate him all you want, but his numbers have been extremely accurate.

I guess the gate numbers are how they are making money, because no one is buying these PPVs.
