ANTHONY YARDE DISCOVERED in just his second amateur fight that playing for points and attempting to impress the judges is not for him. Yarde, of course, is set for a second tilt at world title glory when he takes on the unbeaten unified champion Artur Beterbiev at the OVO Arena, Wembley on January 28, live on BT Sport, having overcome professional setbacks against Sergey Kovalev and Lyndon Arthur.

Yarde needs to start fast and just let his hands go from the opening bell and trying to catch Beterbiev cold. Yarde is a good puncher and quite explosive but once Beterbiev gets into rhythm, I think that’ll be game over for Yarde.

Wouldn’t massively shock me if Yarde did manage to do that because Beterbiev isn’t getting any younger and we have seen him hurt before. I still fully expect Beterbiev to win, I think he’s just a much higher level, but Yarde has a window of opportunity early to try to do something.

Same advice I'd give to anyone who can punch against Artur... Throw the kitchen sink early whilst you still got some snap. The longer it goes the more the relentless pressure and thudding power starts to take it's toll. Dudes just start to crumble.

it's not bad advice but instead Yarde will probably throw 7 punches total in the first 5 rounds.

Yarde may talk all he wants, he's getting totally annihilated.

Beterbiev has too much experience on his side. He loves getting in exchanges, that's his home. He'll land the more accurate shots and dish out a lot of damage. Somewhere in the first 4 rounds we'll see Yarde lose his legs and it'll all go downhill from there.

Yarde has a puncher's chance and Beterbiev has been down. He can be hit so we will see. I'm going with the Russian.
