'Take for example that Filipino fighter that moved up 8 full weight classes while retaining his punching power and when he all of a sudden started getting drug tested he stopped looking like superman lol'

Could be PEDs, equally could not be anything about PEDs. Georges Carpentier started his career at flyweight. Won world title at LHW by KO so clearly 'retained his punching power' up the divisions. This was in the years around WW1 so I think we can safely say PEDs were not a factor. Carpentier started boxing very young & had had a poor upbringing so was probably malnourished. He went from being able to make 112 to winning a title at 175 & even fought for the H/W title! All those things can be said about Manny. Carpentier was the most spectacular example but you could say similar about Ted 'Kid' Lewis, Len Harvey & Archie Moore. They all started at 112 & ended up being successful at much heavier weights. It doesn't happen today among US or European fighters because (1) you can't turn Pro before 18 & (2) far fewer children grow up malnourished. In an environment like the Philippines it is perfectly feasible without PEDs.

Look, I don't like some of the stuff around Manny & his refusal to be tested, especially the 'I'm scared of needles' bollox, but just saying 'he started at 112 & ended up being strong at 147' is not, of itself, a reason to say he took PEDs.

Agree but you can't deny that "pre-steroids" issues, most in the province if not all respected is "anyone, anytime" throwback mentality of a fighter.

Not a possibility more so common sense. You see fighters move up 3,4 weight classes in their career and they can’t do the damage they did at lower weight classes because they’re fighting naturally bigger men. Pacquiao moved up not 3 or 4 but actually 8 weight classes while being able to hurt those naturally bigger guys lol

Paulie Malignaggi was right about you casuals that think superman exist in real life and think he needs a failed drug test to see it. Do yourself a favor, stop watching boxing. You don’t understand what an athlete can and can’t do naturally in a fight. Go watch wwe
