I give Gavril credit, he is super strong, skilled and fights every singe minute of every round, you have to beat him. Frankly, nobody really wanted to fight Gavril in his prime, he's now 36 but back then, he could derail any of the top guys and win or lose he always did damage. In the 1st fight Benavidez stayed on the ropes and still managed to pull off a SD in a fight that wasn't nearly as close as Canelo vs Erislandy Lara.

Benavidez gave Gavril an immediate rematch, something Canelo refused Lara. In the rematch Benavidez was off the ropes and damaging Gavril in the 2nd, 4th, 7th and 9th through the 12th. In the end Gavril suffered a broken nose losing 108-120, it wasn't even close.

You may think it’s cleared up because you’re a canelo nut guzzler but canelo only petitioned for the wbc title after Benavidez got stripped, so he still hasn’t beaten the man that was the wbc champion. Since then, Benavidez hasn’t lost while Canelo has gotten his ass whooped by bivol and went life and death with a gggrandpa. Safe to say it’s up in the air as to who the best at 168 is until they fight.

I never said Canelo shouldn't fight Benavidez if Benavidez beats Plant, but the fact remains that Benavidez hasn't fought Plant and the damn fight hasn't even been announced.

Again, irrelevant to the point that Benavidez was wbc champion, never lost the belt in the ring, is still in the division, is still winning and canelo still hasn’t proven he’s the best in the division until he beats him or someone else does.
