The main reason for this is the accumulation of purses paid to hundreds of unknown morons like Andrade and others. They have a once in a lifetime fighter and superstar like Canelo, but they can't even market it properly and people like Showtime more. But but DAZN is new HBO and Showtime is poor man's HBO.Comment

And yet since Elon acquired Twitter it's value has only went up by billions coincidence, i don't thinks so.
Frankly I don't care about your opinion on the matter the market dictates it's value same with Netflix or DAZN, too many of you people are basing shít on feelings rather than the reality of the market...Comment

If you think they're turning a profit with Canelo fighting Callums, Liams,Rockys and Yildirims- you're even dumber then your ridiculous screen name implies.Canelo is the money generator lmao what the f are you taking about. The man can generate millions regardless of who he fights and it’s shown. He made the company money which is the same reason why they wanna keep him, same reason showtime fights to get Canelo. Demetrius Andrade, Devin Haney, those guys are the ones the company is bankrupt. Haney fighting old washed up Gamboa and Linares. Andrade fighting quigley
The little red head is A big ppv star if You're going by today's low standards. If we look at REAL PPV stars from the past, his numbers are a joke by comparison. He's A baby PPV star.Comment

Bad news comes out for dazn and it’s fans immediately try to attack pbc, Haymon, but at no point was ESPN or my ***ish brother arum mentioned. This should set off alarm bells to how “on code” these black obsessed incels areComment

Meanwhile, HBO boxing's budget while it was healthy was 50 million. 30 million in the 2010s.
More money in the market = high fighter pay = less competitive matchups. Period.
That's not even up for debate really, look at places where purses are smaller - UFC, women's boxing, men's boxing under 130lbs - everyone damn near fights everyone.
This can all be traced back to one fight IMO - Andre Berto vs Freddy Hernandez. Berto got 1 million dollars for that fight, which was supposed to lead into a fight with Cotto. They offered Berto something like 2 million for that and he was like "Why would I take 2million to fight a 50-50 fight when I can knock out mandatories in 1 round for a million bucks?"
The state of boxing being as poor as it is isn't the fault of Al Haymon or Eddie Hearn - HBO made this mess.Comment

How is Haymon clearly "understanding the business" when he has lost the backing from every Network that has ever invested into PBC except Showtime and has had to put most every and any meaningful fight on PPV?
ABC,NBC,CBS,ESPN,FOX,FS1
BOUNCE,SPIKE,TBS.....all have jumped off that ship. PBC's initial launch motto was "bringing boxing back to free tv!!".. Haymon has failed at that has he not? Seems clear to me both Hearn AND Haymon have failed to "understand the business". Haymon putting fights on PPV came out of nothing other than necessity and failure, not profit.Last edited by Sctrojan; 01-14-2023, 12:44 PM.Comment

Maybe because Bob/Top Rank is the only promoter that is running a successful ship??
Bob secured a lucrative deal from the biggest sports network on the planet,ESPN,affording him the ability to give us boxing without the need to gouge us with meaningless, overpriced PPV"s......but youre right,no one has brought up Bob probably because hes not "black"...clown.Comment
