I wonder why Ellis would demand huge purses when he's not a household name yet.

If Floyd looked “foolish” getting hit twice in a 12 round fight, how FOOLISH did Mosley look getting tagged over a dozen time per round? Why is the focus only on Floyd’s two punches in one round over 36 minutes while Mosley was getting pulverized?

Your logic only applies to AJ and Hopkins. AJ was exposed by a short pudgy guy and Hopkins is known for his rough house tactics.

I don’t need to tell you Boxing is a sport where people beat the crap out of each other. Looking “foolish” is not how I’d describe a fighter.

So, Boots only looked “foolish” in the eyes of casual hateful boxing fans.

Please answer the question about Mosley getting beat up for 12 rounds by Floyd.
That is the way I look at this. "Foolish" is a ridiculous word to use to describe those circumstances in a boxing match.

Nope. I expect them to get get hit.

What I don't expect is for them to follow an unknown, C-level opponent around the ring for 12 rounds like a puppy, get turned and rotated all night long and shadow box a guy he should have sparked.

Especially not a guy that NSB swore smashes Spence and Crawford on the same night.

Deep down, you agree with everything I just said. You're just deflecting for your guy. It's cool

Styles make fights. Some C level fighters can make good boxers look bad.
          Maidana did that to Floyd.
          Tarver did that to Roy.

But even if I did agree with you, how did Mosley make Floyd look “foolish”? Mosley is a HoF guy and had a great career not some C level guy.

I remember watching the first portion of the fight. Let's say rounds 1-4 and thought, Ellis got this in the bag. He was making Villa look like an ogre. I skipped probably rds 5-9 and came back at 10. I saw Ellis face looking quite touched up and thought, oh damn, what did I miss? Then finding the dude on the ground in like the final rd, I'm like holy crap, he let this dude back in it?

I can only assume the judges didn't care too much for all the movement Ellis brought on but I thought he was very effective in those early rds. I guess he slowed down enough in the middle/late that Villa just looked better. The knockdown(s) sealed the deal.

Listening to NSB tell the story, Mosley was washed up and way past prime. So

How did a “washed up and way past his prime” Mosley destroy Margarito just a year before losing to Floyd?
How did a “washed up past his prime” Pacqiao beat Thurman 4 years after losing to Floyd?
How is it that those same NSB marvel at Pacqiao beating a washed up past his prime Mosley almost two years after Floyd had beaten him?

Just sharing the narrative, which clearly you also saw.

But see, that's exactly why on the podcast / YouTube, I said that Boots needs to get back in the gym and work on the flaws that Karen exposed, because it's not just about who won or who was washed or whatever - we analyze the fight, we see things that should never happen again, and we call them out.

Manny, as an example, never fixed his vulnerability to right hands. Ever. As a result, he was never going to beat Floyd Mayweather.

With Boots, when Karen did stand and trade, Boots had already blown his load and the power wasn't there like earlier, plus he had slowed down. That makes him directly vulnerable to fighters with elite defense. That needs to be fixed. And even he said he needs to work on the same stuff I called out, which gained respect from me.

When all people do is praise "he won doe", you end up with Terence Crawford - calling himself #1 for beating Jeff Horn, saying he has nothing left to prove, etc. That should not be the answer

This is a great analogy that I agree with. I also read something similar from Breadman today too
