People will "forgive" Pac in a heartbeat. I don't think he'll go down to 135 or 140, at all. I seriously believe he will be fighting PBF at a catchweight, win or lose to Cotto. And then off to political office in the Philippines.

      Doesn't make sense.

      Vacation, toothache
Mayweather is technically incredible. Shane knows he doesn't do well against those guys and that Floyd would beat him. That is why he never took the fight. He just needs the $$$ now. That is the only difference. I don't mind if he gets it. Overall I think Shane is a good guy, but he'd get a bit of a beating agaisnt Mayweather.

I don't think so my friend. I think Floyd is smart enough to understand that if he did that it would damage his image and legacy considerably. If Cotto wins Floyd really has no choice but to fight Shane or Miguel.

I dunno, I just don't see ppl wanting to see or pay for that fight if Manny can't beat Cotto. The reason that fight is so marketable right now is because both guys look close to invincible. Manny loses to Cotto and the entire basis upon which that fight would be successfully promoted is destroyed.

Although, Floyd cherishes his legacy, he always seems to pic money over it. It's the story of his career. Don't be fooled, Floyd always has a choice. They don't call him a cherrypicker for nothing.

              Co-sign.

If Carbajal was still in his prime I could easily see Floyd calling him out.

                  Poll update:

Mosley is 2nd to Manny. I think we might be confusing "who will PBF fight next?" with "who WE WANT PBF to fight next". Who knows? Regardless, I can't wait. Floyd's return just made boxing a bit more interesting.

Anyway, as always enjoyed the insight from the knowledgeable NSBers who posted in this thread. I'm out.

Cotto vs Mayweather would be bigger then Mayweather vs Pacquiao, if Cotto were to beat Pacquiao.

Floyd will make huge sums of money no matter which one of those guys he fights. He isn't a ****** man. If he chose the loser of this fight the entire boxing community would collectively question his legacy. I don't believe any great fighter would want that, especially one who is already rich beyond belief. Jmo, of course.
