Comments Thread For: David Benavidez On Canelo Alvarez: "He Doesn't Want To See Me"

By and large, Canelo Alvarez has sought out some of the more arduous challenges in an effort to prove his pugilistic stature. But while the pound-for-pound luminary believes that he's taken on all comers, David Benavidez has openly wondered why a showdown between them has yet to come to fruition.

Canelo Alvarez doesn't want to see you? As far as Canelo is concerned David Benavidez doesn't even exist.

Benavidez should move up to 175. He'd be in some great scrap with Joe Smith and Zurdo.

Benavidez is a real force, but let's see how he does against Plant.

Canelo's achievements shouldn't be underestimated, nor should his skill in the ring.

Bivol is very tough to beat, but perhaps Benavidez, who comes right at an opponent, would be less difficult to figure out.

Don't get the hype. Benavidez was touched up by Garvil, just fought Lemiuex. What am I missing? He's like Ramirez 2.0, just waiting to put him in with a real one when he just tries to walk forward with lackluster defense. Sweet Cheek is going to run out of gas around the 8th like he always does and Cornbread won't be able to save him. Fight is almost a forgone conclusion.

Cinnabon knows that Benavidez will put the beats on him, David's punch volume and work rate are much too high for his liking. Bring Ginger the best, the undeniable Ryder.

Beat Plant then Andrade and you'll get the Canelo fight.

Gingerboy is living #rentfree on benavidez head, this fool should focus all his attention on plant not canelo. Might very well lose his 0 courtesy of sweets cheeks.

Benavidez is more accomplished than Ryder. Doesn't make sense for Alvarez not to fight him; I bet it would be a high selling PPV so it'd make both fighters a lot of money and it would great for both fighters legacy...and it's a fight people want to see. Alvarez has the biggest and most loyal fan base in the sport so he can make easier money fighting just about anyone though. And his fans will adore him even if he never fights Benavidez. But assuming Benavidez beats Plant, who else is there? Because Alvarez I'd not beating Bivol.

If Benavidez didn't lose his belt twice because of his own actions, he could have had Canelo already. He literally sidelined himself. Guess that coke was too good. And all that food he ate not making weight.
