Btw: I have never understood this role at a promotional company. Honestly. Basically a matchmaker is a couch potato. Some guy who sits around all day and watches boxing nonstop. I bet half of the people here at Boxingscene could be better matchmakers than these guys.

Many of these matchmakers have not even laced up a pair of gloves before. Most of them probably cannot wrap their own hands.

This is one of those jobs that you cannot apply for, you just have to know someone who can get you in and agree to pay you for watching boxing matches non-stop, all day to see who matches well against who.

The odd thing was Diaz was at the Ryan fight and even gave in interview to ellie sechback regarding what's next for Ryan.

You think Oscar has more connections than Arum who has been making main event fights for more than 60 years? Another racially driven post from the king of that bu!!shyte.

Trey Shaw, every single post you make on this website is made with racist motives. No exceptions.

Admit it. Every regular poster here knows it. You are the alt of the banned poster Trey Shaw and you’ve been banned here many times for making racist posts. You never deny this, must be a reason for that. I strongly suspect that this isn’t the first time you’ve been banned and then created an alt. Am I correct ?

Diaz left because he found out the kitchen utensils he used to cook with belonged to Oscar

No way. Good matchmakers are out at the gyms, watching sparring, etc, and usually are at the weigh-ins, networking, talking to trainers, etc. Sure, there are fight brokers who just sit in their offices all day making calls and sending emails, but the GREAT ones are out and about, keeping abreast of their guys......

Thanks. I guess I was selling them short there. Reading your post reminded me of Rick Glaser. He talked once about what he does and what he used to do. At this moment, I think Rick assesses what sparring partners are best for fighters preparing for an upcoming fight, and then he brokers the deal. I remember he said something about having to do that for Canelo once and that he'd never do it again, something about Reynoso being a pain in the ass. But he said that he's constantly watching guys spar and things of that nature. Maybe Rick worked as a matchmaker once upon a time? I can't remember now.

                  Thanks for the insight!
