Comments Thread For: Kazuto Ioka-Junto Nakatani: WBO Formally Orders Mandatory Title Fight

A rematch between Kazuto Ioka and Joshua Franco was always doubtful despite the demand immediately after their recent twelve-round draw. The WBO sent a reminder of why that was always the case.

Could be a passing of the torch but I thought the same about Ioka-Tanaka.

Ioka needs to run it back with Franco. Felt Franco put that work on him and shoulda came out with the W, but regardless, that fight was very much worth a second chapter. Putting that aside, Ioka-Nakatani is a solid fight for both guys and if he comes out with the W, Franco gotta be on deck after. That's unfinished business.

Franco should unify with Estrada in the meantime.

            Nakatani should beat Ioka.
The only question is can he stop him.

Junto will then try to unify with the winner of Estrada / Franco if they chose to fight.

Franco would lose to Estrada, and that would kill any interest in an Ioka rematch.

Which is unfortunate as he should be the WBO champion right now in my opinion.

Not at all. I like the Estrada fight.

It just sucks that getting screwed out of the decision in Japan is going to set him back some, once Estrada beats him.
