If it wasn't close then it would be for Ellis who won 8 or 9 rounds clearly. Two knock downs don't make up for getting outboxed for 3 quarters of the fight. If Ellis didn't get up, then Villa wins, but he did. So, it should go by the points, which Ellis had in his favor from all of his work over the entire fight. He out landed Villa by more than 100 punches.

It was actually boring because Villa kept doing the same thing. Come around round 8 he started to land more frequently. You have to give it to Villa for having the stamina and power towards the end of the fight. He did not fade or is a 4 round fighter.

Rematch would be great. I thought Ellis won the fight but I get Gonzalez-rungvisai 2 vibes here. Villa will be coming with full confidence looking to stop Ellis instead of waiting for him to gas. Ellis was boxing great the first 8 rounds but he has no pop to keep Villa off him and he knows that now.

Sounds like ya'll are salty because Villas going to have the confidence going into the rematch that he can knock Ellis out - and probably will. I'm sure you guys wish Ellis could have just run off down the road and fought Boots, huh?

Villa smacked Ellis around the ring like a little girl. Would probably be best for Ellis to run and hide.
Then what the Hell is he waiting on? Just tell him to send the damn contract.

I am sure that Ellis would be more than happy to oblige him. Romain is just too damn slow.

Rashidi boxed circles around his ass. He easily beat him the first time and just would easily beat him the second time as well.

I am not saying that it was a robbery but IMO Ellis had enough rounds to win. I like that a guy like Villa that will actually fight anyone won.
Of course he came out the corner. The referee took a long time
