    I think Errol was trying to box Mikey to prove a point that he can outbox a boxer...he went back to his steam rolling ways after that fight.

        This would be believable to me if he said he was going to do this before the fight. Before the fight he said to Mikey's face "if I can get you out of there then I'm going to get you out of there." I will add in to counter the other guy you are responding to though, Errol landed 345 punches on Mikey vs 75. KO or not, he definitely put a hurting on Mikey and made him look like he should retire.

          The conspiracy theorist in me says the call was made to give Villa the nod.
          Reason : Villa would give Ennis a Latino fighter to beat coming off a win of a good contender.

          The old beat a Mexican ( latino ) to expand your fanbase playbook.

          Would you guys prefer Ennis / Ellis or Ennis / Villa ?
          Pretty risky to rig a fight based on the final round

              I know. That's the conspiracy theorist in me.

              I was rooting for Villa in the fight but scored the fight 8 - 4 minus the knockdowns.

              But I was honestly surprised Villa got the decision.

                I think it's an unfair comparison. While Ennis has the raw talent; However, he lacks both the skill and championship experience of a Crawford and Spence. They both have fought and defeated better fighters than Jaron.

                "Boots" is still a work in progress. He's hardly more than a prospect at this stage of his career. At age 25, he still could use a lot more growth and development.

                  I’ve never seen Crawford or Spence fight a guy with the slick, athletic movement of that Karen Ukrainian dude, so there’s no telling what would happen if they fought him. I’d bet that at the very least there would be moments where both Terrance and Errol would look bamboozled.

                    Bud & the Truth have seen that style before in the amateurs...and even if Karen would have given them trouble, neither one of them would never had that lost look on their face, swinging wildly like Ennis did.

                    How do you think Bud and Truth would have handle Villa?

                      @Queen_Leia

                      For some reason I was unable to quote your post. Probably a bug in the system.

                      Anyway, I suspect that you are correct. Bud and spence wouldn't have been as sloppy or as confounded as Ennis was. Bud would remain patient and disciplined and Spence would slowly but systematically apply his offense like he did with Mikey Garcia. This Karen guy is a LOT slippery than Mikey though, so it would be very interested to see exactly how it played out. I'm hoping Ennis is the real deal though. Hoping he can show us much better things in the future. It's nice to have a dynamic, young guy on the scene!
