Ellis got his clock cleaned. Simple as that. If he won on points, as some of you say, he lost on street cred. nobody will fear him now and a bum of the month run won't change that. Intimidation is part of the game, rolling around kissing that nasty mat in the end, is not intimidating.

It was a fair and decent scrap. Ell8s was fast and flashy ans won his fair share of rounds....but Villa was thudding him. Every shot he landed had an effect...and that effect rooled into the 12th round. 2 more rounds could have been life threatening for Ellis. However the points played out...he got punished.

        Most had Villa winning 9-12.

That's 4 rounds, then two legit KDs = 6 points, a draw at minimum.

Judges will always score in favor of the constant aggressor.

The key is to leave no doubt in the eye of judges. Ellis has always been content to do "just enough", and it cost him.

Like watching a lion run down a gazelle and right when the lion is going to eat it. They stop the action and claim the gazelle won.

Kinda like Fury-Wilder I, except that Fury really and clearly won. Ellis I'm not sure about. A draw at best? Even with a draw, his value in the division takes a hit. Rematch with Villa or fight someone like Custio Clayton or a Rocha rematch next.

I didn't have Villa winning 9-12, he picked up his output, but that didn't equate to winning all 4 rounds. He lost a least 1 or 2 of those. In punches landed, he was outdone by over 100 punches.

You know full well punches landed isn't the only thing that quality judges look for.

Numerous fights have happened where NSB claims you can't win a fight off a jab, unless you're Golovkin because apparently, "his jab is like a power punch". So the rules keep shifting.

The aggressor almost always wins the round, regardless of landing. That's why Chino got close scores against Floyd despite being totally ineffective most of the time.

That means when you're fighting an aggressive Mexican, you'd better either be ready to go to war or land combos at will.
