Okay genetlemen - and any ladies we got of course - got some brilliant news for the 2023 Pick Em - basically what it says on the tin. I exchanged a coupla PMs with BIGPOPPAPUMP last night and the site has offered to increase the Prize fund to a grand total of $800!
The propoasal made is:
1st Prize: $400
2nd Prize: $200
3rd Prize: $100
4th place $50
5th place $50
Now there may be some ongoing discussion of the precise details but due to the transatlatic PMing lag I wanted to notify the forum of the increased prize fund in good time for tonights fight - Tank vs Hector Luis Garcia - which will be the first Pick Em of 2023:

Now most of our regular players will tell you it's more about the banter and the bragging rights and the chance to showcase your boxing knowledge - and it is - in my opinion we crafted a great little corner of the forum that's free of most of the tribal bullchit and trolling that plagues most of NSB... a little space for the dudes who are just all about the boxing. But... well... let's face it, probably most of us could also use a few hundred $$$ or quid right after Xmas too - sure as hell know I could!
So... there it is gents. I'm gonna keep bumping this one throughout the day, but if you got any interest at all in the game - or in winning some of them beautiful $$$ by showcasing your boxing expertise - then right now is the time to get on board.
The Pick Em runs January to December (typically ending on the 31st December with the traditonal Japanese New Year Card) and we're aiming to include something like 75 - 80ish fights - on average maybe 6 to 7 each month. Thing is though, the experience of the last 5 years show that consistency is key. Sometimes we all miss a fight here or there and it is possible to miss 3 or 4 Picks and still win but miss any more than that and your odds of ending the year in a prize positon start to drop off sharply...
The point I'm trying to make is that if you're even thinking of joining in the 2023 Pick Em the time to do it is now at the very outset on Pick Em #1

And remember gents it's open to all registered users of Boxing Scene, regardless of likes or post count, it's absolutely free - gratis - to join in and comes with no commitments.
The only question I got is that with an $800 prize fund available why wouldn't you join in?
Time to get in here and show us if you can walk the walk gents - I know we all think we're boxing geniuses - so how about you put yourself to the test and show us all how much you really know? Get in here and show us what you got!
Look forward to seeing you all in the game gents - reckon it's gonna be a great year for boxing and the Pick Em will help you appreciate it all the more.
Reawaken your love for the sport!
Best of luck
