He actually got offered around £1 million for May 2022 and he rejected it. He’d already rejected several other offers prior to the second purse bid which everybody knew was a waste a time as Andrade would be rejecting the fight regardless. The second purse bid was simply a formality to remove Andrade from the rankings and get Parker-Ryder sanctioned for the WBO interim title.

He didn't reject the first one, believe me I'm not a fan, so I'm not defending him. He pulled out of the fight due to a shoulder injury, and they were supposed to reschedule after he was cleared medically. The second one came after he dropped his belt and officially moved up, after he refused the Janibek fight. But, Warren won the purse bid, because no one else offered a bid, for a ridiculously low amount.

Canelo has fought more hard opponents than anyone currently active. If he wants a tuneup coming off surgery then there's nothing wrong with that at all.

And as far as tuneups go Ryder isn't bad. He's the WBO mandatory at 168 lbs.

Andrade, Benavides, Charlo, Plant are all under PBC. They need to fight each other and the winner fight Canelo. Otherwise neither is bringing anything to the table for Canelo. Canelo shouldn't be called out for fighting Ryder. After all, even Mayweather fought B level fighters like Berto, Maidana, Ortiz and Guerrero.

Demetrius Andrade is a skilled boxer, has been impressive thus far against who he’s beaten. Is a belt holder. Is undefeated. He has passed the eyeball test thus far.

Why wouldn’t you want to see Canelo challenge himself against someone like that? There’s no reason why not. None.

First of all, Canelo is entitled to an easy fight coming off surgery. It's not like he hasn't given the fans plenty of fights against tough opponents throughout his career.

Second, Ryder stepped in and beat Zach Parker which is something Andrade couldn't or wouldn't do.

Third, who is Andrade fighting next? Exactly.

He didn't step in and BEAT Parker, he was getting tapped up by Parker for 3 rounds until Zach hurt his hand. Ryder had one decent round, and all these Cinnabon pube combs act as if John was about to turn it on. With the way he fights, it would have been more of the same, getting tapped up by a slightly above average opponent. They STOPPED the fight due to the injury, not because Ryder, and his stone face, did anything.

He accepted it and then pulled out, it’s essentially the same thing, I’m very skeptical about his supposed injury as Queensberry tried several times to reschedule the fight and Andrade was not interested. Andrade was offered a lot more than 150k prior to the second purse bid.

I’m not a fan of Canelo-Ryder either but Andrade is in no position to criticise it as he’s the one who ducked Parker, which allowed Ryder to put himself in position for a Canelo payday.
