No, I heard he's doing a 'Joshua' and going another route.

Two tune up fights with a new team (Whyte is a tune up at this point) is smart and makes sense.

Eddy isn't doing AJ any favors. He knows AJ has a glass jaw, so he'll promote around that. Still, ped depleted, just KOd, Whyte is no tune up, it's a litmus test. Beat Whyte, if he can, then, the big cash out. Where they carry AJ out on a stretcher.

He should "do a Joshua" and fight Ruiz, like AJ did.

If he could beat him, Andy would be the best win Wilder's on resume.

You are correct Whyte is a tune up for most but may be life and death at this point for Anthony. If his 'new team' and he don't work as with Garcia , then expect many more 'tune ups' ... it keeps the idiots watching and expecting the unexpected! ....Joshua fighting someone at last.

Wilder knows that Ruiz has great skills, but I don't think he's worried. Ruiz is merely a bump in the road to either Joshua (my preference) or Usyk.

I'll add that I'll be surprised if Joshua ever gets in the ring with wilder. Here on Boxing Scene, passionate discussions have been going on for four or five years (maybe more) about a Wilder vs Joshua fight and which one is better. If Joshua and his team had actually wanted the fight it would have happened years ago. Now, it is just a big money fight, and we already know that Wilder can beat Joshua.

AJ will return in late June or July, at best. His schedule blows. His promoter is hoping heavyweight sussess itself such that the coast will be clear for AJ to land a choice, lucrative, lower risk assignment. In the same span of time since AJ's last fight, Tyson decimated Biggs, stopped an aging Holmes and beat-up Tony Tubbs.. Five months! And AJ isn't even the worst of them!

Joshua is going to line up some cherrypicks.

Demsey McKean then Dillian Shyte is my guess.

Agreed 100%. For such an eminent former champion a top 15 opponent is scraping the barrel for a set-up. Some poor schlob with get half killed just to restore Joshua's confidence. A rotten system.
It shound be not more than a # 5-6 contender.

AJ and his team did want the fight years ago but Finkel/Haymon didn't. That's why the fight never happened. I base that opinion on facts, as I can know them, not the shit that people talk in comments online.

And it's a fact that, no matter how many times fanboys say they know that Wilder would beat AJ, they can't possibly know that because they have never fought.
