Comments Thread For: Derrick James Says Crawford Has 'Uneducated Perspective' of Himself in Spence Fight

What I want - and what you should expect - is for Crawford to take inspiration from his buddy Devin Haney, who accepted ALL TERMS from the A-Side, went in there and made history, even through a pointless rematch as part of the contract.
It's not about the specific terms, it's, about, shut up, pick up the pen, sign it, then go in there and do what you claim.
THEN, you're the A-Side, you can make the demands from whoever else you want.
That's how this works. That's how it's worked for decades. One stubborn fighter isn't going to change it. All it's doing is wasting his career. The guy is damn near 40 and he's been exposed, which is why he's finally falling down lists. He's on record saying he doesn't care. Ok, then don't care to be the best.Comment

As I said, these dudes don't want to see the fight. You can reach agreements with Canelo and AJ, the REAL A Sides in boxing. These are the same dudes who backed Ronnie Shields saying Andrade is a nobody when DAZN and Hearn offered them 7-10 million plus a guarantee rematch.
Crawford left his promoter and highest guarantees in the division literally agreed to the same no revenue deal Kovalev agreed to in the 2nd Ward fight and he still doesn't want the fight.
It's a bunch of buffoonery now by his man fans. They don't want to see the fight. Most of them are PBC fans. They saw what Fury did to Wilder. Even Oscar moved his fighter and said we aren't fighting him. Someone else can have the WBO mandatory.
Why would all the Indians circle Spence's wagon if Crawford was the earlier, less dangerous fighter?
Once he compromises Spence's little body attack which he hasn't stopped anyone in ages Crawford is going to steamroll Spence.
It's time. Put a conclusion to this generation or Spence get the hell out of the division. The Flute fight is a complete joke! And I 100% guarantee they will push that fight back till August or so and Spence will only fight one time this year. I saw it with Wilder. They are going to try and get Spence a voluntary to avoid the 2 mandatories. At one point Wilder fought something like 4 voluntaries. Keep that in mind.Comment

Spence telling Crawford he uses an illegal firestick is the most "uneducated" thing I've ever heard. Like how are you going to tell your rival that while arguing over money?
I hope this never gets forgotten and no 1 ever buys a ppv with Errol Spence involved.Comment

Haney and Kambosos were and frankly are relative nobodies compared to Spence and Crawford. Crawford deserves his fair share as the B side which I agree he is based on PPV numbers and Spence having the 3 belts around his waist. Your guys are trying to lowball him out of the fight and they're not even hiding it anymore with these guys talking about it in interviews and what not. They should just say the don't wanna fight him and move on. The IBF hasn't made Spence fight Boots either, they're usually great about enforcing their mandos but somehow your guy can go like 4 years without doing it lol. I guess boxing hasn't changed, you grease the right pockets and things seem to fall your way like Thurman moving all the way up the WBC rankings somehow and the IBF not calling for a mando for years. Funny stuff

——-Why would I need to defend him? I’m a fan of boxing. I like watching fights. So I guarantee you no matter who he or anyone else decides to fight I won’t get on the comment section and start complaining. I’m a long time boxing fan. So I’m used to the reality that my dream fights don’t always happen.
This is a fair response.
That said, if Crawford was to fight a guy like Broner, then he might as well just get into exhibitions as well.

Correct - and Derrick already explained this in simple terms some months ago.
Crawford / Porter drew 125k buys.
Spence / Porter was over 350k buys.
Say you round up, so 130k buys for Crawford. Same opponent.
Spence drew almost near 3x the buys.
To paraphrase James:
"Now, we ain't saying we're should get 3x the money, but it damn sure ain't going to be 50-50 or 60-40."

Nah. Just watching the actions of both and using critical thinking. The Spence side is talking money and leverage. Crawford is talking about sacrifice and legacy.Comment

Tell me what the purse split was between Spence and Ugas...............

Then come back and try to tell me Spence should be getting like 70-30 against Crawford lol...
You guys are just delusional. The fight will never happen because they have people who think like you in that camp.Comment
