Why don`t you just admit you can`t stand Mayweather that`s why you make these negative comments about him?You know damn well he can`t fight everyone at once so why are you saying ****** ****?He can only fight one fighter at a time and if he decides to fight the Pac/cotto winner it does not mean he`s ducking Shane it means he`s going for a bigger money fight before he fights Shane.

Cause if he fights Shane next and And loses he`ll missed out on a bigger money fight.

Hopkins took risks. Sure he fought a few smaller guys here & there but that's after beating everyone in his own division, not too mention going up to LHW at age 40 and taking on the man there, etc etc etc.

Again, he's saying if floyd wants the easiest path, don't fight shane. he's not saying that's what he did in his own career.

You guys reading into it too deep. He's saying if he was Floyd's promoter, he'd advise him not to fight shane cuz he knows shane will whoop his ass.

You forgot he went up in weight to fight a weight drained Tarver.Don`t be ******,Hopkins new Tarver was gonna be weight drained he even said it in interviews before the fight one being with Teddy Atlas.

Hopkins made a good point. Nobody could care less about records and such. It's about the money. Sugar aint going to make anything facing Clottey or Cotto.

Only the big names. Likewise, Mayweather aint going to make anything facing nobodies, and he aint going to risk his money-marketing tool (his undefeated record) on someone big (like Cotto) with little financial reward.

I doubt Mayweather cares if he lost 10 times. As long as he makes money from idiots willing to pay $50 to watch him prance about a ring for 30+ mins just because he is undefeated, he'll take it.

Face it. Boxing is a joke. The only bigger joke out there is UFC/MMA

        __

As for Hopkins facing smaller guys. Hopkins and Maywether are two completley differenct people.

Hopkins was considered too old when he faced Trinidad, and who was MW Champ. Trinidad was expected to KO him into retirement.

As for DLH, Hopkins was infact smaller, coming in at 156lbs to DLH's 158.

Difference between Hopkins and Mayweather is, that Hopkins' biggest fights were against these guys. And any Size difference is negted by the fact that Hopkins is way way too old to still be in the ring.

Where as Mayweather could face 100+ others rather than Hatton or Marquez. Especially since he is 32, and arguebally the best shape of his life.

End of the day, it's about Money. If Big names want to face Hopkins and take advantage of the fact he is ridiculous old, but get schooled, that's their own fault.

Which is why i find these Pac, Cotto, Myweather, Hopkins, British Fighters, RJJ Fanboys all ridiculous and pathietc

These guys couldn't care less about the "Public". Their people at the end of the day, and are looking out for their own intrest.

Well Maybe Hopkins can be cut some slack, since he has done lot for charity from what i know.

But even then, everyone is doing their own thing, don't know why people act so surprised when they say it how it is. Same with any Sport.

Which is why i always tell people, dont get too into it, it's going to make no difference to your life what they do and who wins/loses
It does`nt matter if hopkins was old,he wasnt faded so Hopkins was still at an advantage. And also you failed to mention that on fight night in the Delahoya/Hopkins fight,Hopkins came in weighing more then Delahoya so nice try.

BH: "No. I'd be telling Floyd Mayweather if it's about lining your pockets, I'd tell him to fight the least threatening fighter

The point he's trying to make, is that if it's purely about money, then yeah, h'd advise PBF to go ahead and fight the smaller guys. If that's PBF's sole motive, then he'd advise him to go down that path.

But he's not applying that logic to his career at all, nor is it any sort of admission of his own own career path. It's a rip on the idea that Floyd is all about the money, and not about legacy.

The whole article is Hops ripping on and Floyd and trying to goad him. Why would Hopkins then try to equate himself with PBF? Hmmm?

Do us all a favour and stick to the "Check out who Calslappy is shagging right now!!!" threads.

            Shame on you.

            And missing! Again!

BH: "First of all, it was the right decision and it was the best decision from a promoter standpoint and also from a fighter's standpoint first. The fighter has to be aggressive when it's time to be aggressive. He has to be disrespectful when it's time to be disrespectful. Floyd disagrees because he's on the other end. But Floyd don't remember when he bum rushed Cory Spinks' press conference after Spinks won in Vegas. He did the Kanye West at the press conference, taking away some of his shine and taking it from Cory Spinks. Ask one of Floyd's people to respond to that. Ask one of his cronies that understands. Back to Shane Mosley and what I said in his ear. A closed mouth don't get fed. This is your chance. Read my lips if they don't cut it out of the replay on HBO. I instigated him coming over and making some noise because a closed mouth don't get fed."

I: Since a closed mouth doesn't get fed, do you think he would have gotten the Mayweather fight before Juan Manuel Marquez, his stablemate?

BH: "Maybe with an interview here and there, but not on the internet. People look for that on the internet and it's good for boxing and it's good for information. At the end of the day I would love for Shane to go to Vegas and become a stalker. I'm talking about showing up at Mayweather's gate. That's not desperate and this is what boxing needs. If some are scared that the UFC is kicking our ass, this is what boxing needs and this is what the African-American community in boxing needs.

"Shane has seen every style in the game and they want to make subterfuge and deceit about steroids and why he didn't want to fight me a couple years ago, but that's bull****. If me and Roy Jones can talk about a fight 15 years, why can't we talk about Shane and Floyd when it's clearly the best fight out there. People know Shane is the same size and he has quick speed like Floyd does. Mayweather knows and I got to give him credit for trying to get the most money against the smaller guys. It's our job and we have to agree at Golden Boy and we do agree, at least right now, that we have to be the counter puncher of what Mayweather wants to do in the future, which is fight the smallest guy out there.

"If the fans want to see Floyd fight somebody his own size, Shane Mosley has come through the ranks and moved up in weight like Floyd has, so at the end of the day, they have an opportunity to bring back the black audience and capture everybody else's imagination because it's a historic throwback Ray Leonard-Tommy Hearns kind of fight. This will bring the black community back into the forefront. When we had a deep pool of legends, black fighters were embraced taking on Mexicans, Puerto Ricans and each other."

I: If you were as close to Mayweather as you are with Shane, would you be telling Mayewather he needs to fight Shane?

BH: "No. I'd be telling Floyd Mayweather if it's about lining your pockets, I'd tell him to fight the least threatening fighter, who only poses a threat thanks to the media because of their record, not their physical attributes or their style. I would tell him to fight Pacquiao ten times, get Barrera if you can get away with it, but don't fight Shane Mosley. If his intentions are to take less risk for most money, just say it. The fans of this site are not ****** and they've been educated on a lot of fronts. Floyd did what he had to do and I'm not knocking his win, but nobody likes a bully and everybody expected it. Writers have nothing to write about Mayweather until after the fight. What happened after the fight was the only unexpected television that occured that night."
Hopkins said it right here. He may be actively promoting Mosely, but the rest of the interview is pretty much right on.

Hopkins is a smart dude there is reason he's been around for so long and still able to compete with most of these young cats. He's also pretty smart on the business end as well thats why he linked up with Oscar. Like it or not everything he said made sense.
