After Canelo got stripped by the IBF for not being able to come to an agreement with Derevyanchenko, I think the Andrade match-up no longer had the same allure for him. His desire to become undisputed at MW was ruined. So, he took a calculated risk and fought Kovalev to become a three division titlist. I think the situation is a bit different now because Canelo has one less division that he can go to (160) if he wanted to avoid Andrade. Since Canelo has all the titles at 168, all roads lead to him. I don't think Andrade will ever be Canelo's first option, but 168 may be his best opportunity to get Canelo. However, I think Andrade should've stopped chasing Canelo and just fought Janibek on ESPN. The past is in past. We'll see if Andrade's current choice bears fruit for him.

Yeah but now Ryder fought him, beat him and it puts him in a mandatory position for Canelo by being interim title holder, or possibly gets the title if Canelo vacates

Andrade could have fought Parker, beat him and put himself in that position. Best case scenario is he gets a mandatory shot at Canelo. Worst case scenario is Canelo vacates and Andrade gets elevated to full champ and can say Canelo ducked him.

But the problem is some fighters don’t think ahead

i used to think Andrade was mismanaged. But I think it’s become clear he’s just not very smart.

ancajas fought for less than 5000$ in his first title fight. pacman rewarded him with 20 000$ so he can buy a house for his parents. and this entitled nobody thinks that 150 000$ is nothing. guess what, 99% of boxers never get even that kind of purse. if he wants millions for irrelevant fights, he can enjoy not fighting at all. matchroom already gave him a lot of money for nothing. if he doesn't want to pay his dues, just retire.

Y’all casuals don’t know ****. Andrade been Canelo mandatory at 154 & 160 and he ducked him. Why would Canelo honor him as a mandatory now? Canelo will definitely fight Ryder he’s European.

Andrade fought ONCE as champ. But in that time you think Canelo was “ducking” he fought Lara and Kirkland, and became the lineal MW champ. Get out of here with that. Andrade literally ducked Charlo and didnt fight again… This isnt even exaggeration. Literally what happened.

As an Andrade nut hugger even *I* can admit no one has ever ducked Andrade. Andrade has ducked his own career… Here’s the thing and it stings to say…NO ONE ,cares anymore. It might be more accurate to say people ALMOST cared at one point. Beating him literally does nothing for anyone outside of a young dude like Munguia or something.

Just stop. He’s in his 30s and never fought a champ. He is the common denominator - his own problem.

He’s as dumb and delusional as he is skilled and the dude has legitimate skill…
Everyone knows that unifications take precedence over mandatories.

If Canelo got stripped, its because he wanted to, just like he requested the wbc to give him the franchise belt to avoid Charlo.

Whenever Benavidez, Charlo, and Andrade are involved Canelo will be seen making blatantly dodgy decisions, when the path doesn't lead to them, then he will make decisions that are the opposite of the ones he made prior or after.

              Canelo doesn't want the smoke.

I won't defend Andrade for the ducking he has done, but the same goes for Canelo.

All these fighters except Benavidez, Beteviev, and Bivol are ducks. Charlo, Andrade, Canelo, GGG, all of them, bunch of sissy ducks

Canelo fought Liam Smith, Julio Chavez Jr., Amir Khan, and James Kirkland (who was 4 years past it) .... he could easily have fought Andrade anywhere in there. Andrade was undefeated, a champ (for some of that), and a much better fight (for fight fans or financial outcomes). Canelo always "found" reasons not to ....
