Atlas suggested that Lopez needs to find a new trainer.. named Atlas. This said, you know who also hasn't progressed? Atlas... who's been regressing for the past 20 years.

He was handed that victory on a silver platter. Having gone back and rewatched his last several fights, he looks the same. He was given all kinds of trouble by Nakatani and fought the same way. If he takes the title fight from the Martin eliminator, I suspect he's going to get exposed in a big way, maybe even knocked out. He's got reflexes and explosiveness, but that only takes you so far.
This right is the perfect definition of taking away from a fighters win. I am by no means a Teo fan but to sit there and say if Loma would of done that or that then the outcome would have been different is nuts. That is crazy to me because under that analogy everyone should have a do over. When you show up you're supposed to show up and do what you're supposed to do...**** the excuses. Teo won the fight and if Loma didn't do what he was supposed to have done who's fault is that? Come on man....no one gives a damn about the what if...that's a b*tch way of thinking...stop it.

People here, and the author also, seem to feel Teo falls in love with his punches. Say what you will about Teddy, he's out here preaching the fundamentals of boxing. For those of you who have been in legit boxing gyms, isn't boxing off the jab and setting up those power punches with some emphasis to the body exactly what he needs? I don't always agree with Teddy, but I do agree with him here - this is solid advice.

I bet it's life outside the ring that is negatively affecting Teofimo.

          No trainer can fix that.

There was a point when I used to quite look up to Teddy. Then I realised he is quite basic. He doesn't have a lot to teach beyond the bare minimum. Move in move out, feint, put a jab in there. Put kindly, he aint no breadman & he certainly ain't Emmanuel. In Teo's case, however, you don't need to know a lot about boxing to know something isn't right & I think Teddy's analysis may be simplistic but it isn't wrong! Teo can't get his feet in the right place at the same time that his hands are in the right place. He honestly needs someone in the gym to give him a fundamental reset building from the feet up. Start from scratch. It will be hard but worthwhile because Teo is one talented guy!

I think Teo could throw more feints. He definitely seems very predictable. And that leaping left-hook is a very bad look. I don't agree with the narrative that he 'suddenly regressed' after Kambosos.

I think he blasted some people out, intimidated Loma for 6 rds, then lost to a fighter who matched him in hand speed and wasn't scared.

Now he is in a bigger division. He is not a boxing genius. Just very gifted physically. He needs to learn new tricks.

Any reasonably thinking boxing fan should understand that it was oddly strange that Loma didn't do a thing for the first six rounds. If you disagree I find that to also be oddly strange. The fact that Teo then gets exposed by a very limited fighter in Ferocious makes it even stranger.

Without a doubt he's regressed, and in 2023 he'll suffer another career loss. Probably even worse than the loss he suffered at the fist's of Kambosos.
