PBC TV deal in 2023 - Showtime & FOX?

What are PBC TV deals in 2023?

As far as I know FOX extended their TV deal last year for a additional year (2022).

But haven't heard any news for a new agreement or extension.

Will Showtime be their only TV deal in 2023?

You haven't heard anything because nothin' has been announced.

The FOX dead ended in 2021 - they've just been continuing on when there's a PPV. I imagine that will not change in 2023 unless PBC finds a new outlet.

But the field is loaded with players looking for content - Paramount+, Amazon Prime, etc.

Will be interesting to see how everything lands.

Even if Paramount and Amazon Prime Netflix get into boxing I don't think they're going to pay the kind of money that PBC is used to getting from showtime.

I think paramount and showtime are merging so I'm not sure what their investment in boxing is gonna b after that. Hopefully they invest more and we get more non ppv fights.

No one is getting into boxing. Fox and Dazn both flopped

They're not. They're owned by the same company so the staff was consolidated, which already happened. If you have two separate revenue streams, you don't just throw one of them away.

Showtime's boxing budget is somewhere in the range $50 million a year.

That is absolute peanuts for sports content. Disney just shelled out $100mil for Formula 1.

Check this article and look at what they're spending: https://www.sportico.com/feature/dis...27-1234697032/

Boxing is cheap content. I'm sure PBC can find the right deal to cover their stable.

It's crazy to think how badly pbc/haymon ruined boxing. From overpaying fighters to fight no hopers, putting everything on ppv to virtually getting kicked off every channel they've been on that those channels will probably never air boxing again.

              Thanks uncle al

FOX wasnt hosting PBC ppvs because it wanted to "just continue" lol. FOX did so because it extended its partnership with PBC in Oct/2021 for another year which puts Wilders vs Helenius ppv card as the last of that deal. With FOX covering all expenses concerning the ppv broadcast, what incentive is there to continue any involvement in PBC PPV when Al continuously fed them ****ty matchups such as Ruiz vs Ortiz and Wilder vs Helenius that generated abysmal buys?

Paramount Global, did merge P+ and Showtime but all signs point to PG eliminating the Showtime network cable channel completely. Whether P+ swallows up the much smaller service in Showtime, relegating it to tile in thier app or even just continuing to invest in boxing at all remains to be seen.

Negative. Mannix, who works for DAZN and is completely anti-PBC, covered this a while back. Showtime is here to stay.
