It's still the root cause of most of the negative things happening in boxing. It's the main reason why most of them now fight once a year. How are you even able to fulfill mandatory obligations fighting once a year? It's so silly?

Its not true as much as ppl act like it is first off. The biggest name in the game has L's. Some of the biggest names in the game in the past have had L's. Manny was massively popular & had numerous L's & he's one of the most popular boxers in the history of boxing.

That said I think fans inherently understand there is no sport where a record means less than in boxing. So fans know if you are 27-1 & you beat 27 guys who weren't sh^t & one guy with a pulse it kinda means you suck despite a pretty record & I'd argue they are right in thinking that. And fans also realize when you fight a lot of quality guys you are gonna lose fights here & there & thats why guys like Saul & Manny have/had tons of fans despite L's.

Nowadays being offered opportunity to take real legit fights don't even have value like being given opportunity to have a job interview. They have to demand retirement money before taking such fights as if winning never crossed their minds.
