I always felt it was strategic, no way was he done fighting at that point.

Brian Kenny was critical of Floyd taking two years off coming back and cherrypicking a lightweight when there was a whole division of welterweights.

Floyd justified it by saying the lightweight had a country behind him.

      Go figure

I found that entire period a really unenjoyable time to be following boxing and I'm glad it's over.

He is the best cherrypicker ever I give him that. He fought top comp up until Hatton. After that it was cherrypick city. You don't end your career fighting a woefully shopworn Andre Berto, a non boxer like Conor McGregor and call yourself the best ever in ANY era

It's funny when people nitpick Floyd. His resume was fantastic. Cotto himself said Floyd was the best that he ever fought.

The guys today resume doesn't compare. I think Spence and Crawford both lose to the 36 yr old Manny that Floyd whipped. Yet people claim that Manny was too old then. It's ridiculous.

Well at the time he told Larry Merchant that he was putting on his promoters hat.

We didn't know that to really mean he was extreme cherrypicking his fights from that point on.

He almost exclusively fought guys ranked top 10 if not top 5. You haters are pathetic man.

Stop trying to defend Floyd fighting a shopworn Cotto when he had a legit opportunity to be the one to take the s off his chest
He then went 12 rounds with a prime Canelo. Could a shopworn fighter do that?

You’re pathetic man, Floyd retired what 7 years ago? And you’re still carrying this level of hatred. Just let it go, you’re honestly just as obsessed as them TMT fanboys.

And he did. Marquez, Mosley, Cotto, Canelo, Pacquiao that’s 5 first ballot Hall of Famers right there. Hardly a bad “comeback” run if that’s what you consider it.
