Yeah I think Golden Boy promotions knew about this the entire time. This catch weight stuff has to stop. We should be seeing fighters fighting on there own weight limit not some where else. If they want to fight in a different weight please make the weight for example if some one is coming up to fight at 147 please make the 147 or there will not be a fight.

As for Marquez getting US$600k,that's a lot of money for Marquezz.The guy's highest earning had been US$750k,so do your Math you's see that's good money.2lbs over wasnt much and certainly didnt lose this guy a fight.

It slipped under most people's radar that it was WW fight because most were focusing on the catch-weight and on JMM's natural fighting weight.
But it was still a fight agreed to at WW by Marquez 'til the end.

But anyone who saw the interviews heard Floyd and his crew say it was a Welter Weight fight.

Now, coming in above the supposed catch-weight that everyone was expecting, was a "bad move" to many, but as was mentioned, not an illegal move. It was still a WW bout, however, to Juan's disadvantage.

To Juan's credit, he became $600,000 richer and can return to fight another day.

This will only open the pathway for others to exploit the loophole until, as
AH wrote, the NSAC changes the rules on that.

here is the thing Fat Dan needs to ask himself

why in the world didn't he bring this up PRIOR to all this going down? I mean he certainly had the chance to because lets no forget a weight was never really established from the opening press conference right down to the weigh in by anyone in Mayweather's camp or from GBP's brass. It was Marquez and Nacho saying 144, Richard and Leonard saying its a welterweight fight.

so if thats thecase, he was there when we all asked what the weight would be and Eric Gomez states "143-144 give or take a pound" at the very first press conference in Vegas. He was there when Schaefer kept insisiting its a welterweight fight. He was there when Leonard kept saying it was a welterweight fight why does he choose to **** on Floyd now?

Fanboy Dan is no doubt embarrassed by his insistence before the fight that it was a 144 lb limit. Everytime someone in his chats would bring up the truth, Dan would arrogantly insist that he was in the know and all the talk of this being a true welterweight fight was just BS.
