Lol Ramirez's manager sounds like the cucks on this site who discuss money instead of boxing.

Great. Some of these idiots who have spent their whole career with a major promoter think they can get a title shot anytime they want.
I can't recall a boxer who turned down a title shot ever saying LATER it was the correct decision.
They always regret it.
If Teofimo doesn't want a title shot either, Prograis should defend against Sandor Martin in Spain. Lots of guys actually want title fights.
As for Ramirez, never thought he was anything special. It's not like when someone says RAMIREZ everyone knows who you're talking about.
He isn't even the most famous Jose Ramirez who boxed. That would be Jose Luis Ramirez.
This Ramirez dude is living in a fantasy land if he thinks he's a big enough star in boxing to turn down title fights.
I was on the Olympic team 10 years ago! You didn't win anything in the Olympics 10 years ago.
I used to have belts! So did Maurice Hooker, who ******. Now neither of you do.
I draw 10,000 people in Fresno! Sorry. They give out belts for a lot of things, but they don't give out belts for that.
Fight or get out of the way. Some fighters would give their left nut for a title shot.Last edited by Dubblechin; 12-21-2022, 11:53 AM.

Rejecting the title shot against Prograis was a real big mistake in his boxing career plain, and simple.
Ramirez might regret that decision in the long run, because if he loses a fight in the interim he might not get another opportunity to fight for the title.CPNUTKnockoutFreshMart

Seems odd for Ramirez to petition and initiate negotiations only to not want the fight. I do think Prograis would hugely benefit from being on a platform like ESPN, and it will be a fight fans gravitate towards. Prograis is really unknown.

It's a mandated title shot. Ramirez either wants it, on the split decided by the sanctioning body, or he doesn't. If he doesn't then WBC should remove him from their rankings for at least 12 months.

Prograis got these guys running from title shots.
Guys work and wait their whole career for something like this and then just throw it away

It amazes me that we don't get the top matchups anymore. I still remember vividly standing in my high school library with my friend, looking at the Sport's Illustrated picture of Thomas Hearns. My friend thought Hearns was going to win and I backed Leonard. I was really disappointed when Spence vs. Crawford fell apart and then a couple of fights recently were so obviously fixed and now this. Whatever though. I still love boxing and it is my favorite sport to watch. Times change. It really left an impression on me when my father told me about how they used to have to listen to the boxing on the radio in the 40s and 50s and then wait for the films to come to Hawaii on boat to watch them in the theater a month later. Compared to when I used to watch boxing every week on television multiple times a week in the 80s and 90s. These days, there isn't as much boxing to watch live, but there are so many matches from the past that I watch. Besides for watching the boxing matches themselves, I've always loved reading boxing magazines and especially the fan's letters. It's why I've spent so many years here, reading what other boxing fans opinions are about various aspects of the sport. I really appreciate the opinions of most all forum members. Happy holidays all!

Ramirez's side using the argument that Prograis can't generate much revenue without him is weak. Regis is the champion! Why not fight him, even for less money, beat him and then write your own ticket? To pass up a championship fight and a chance at bigger ticket fights later, is a bad business move and shameful.CPNUTKnockoutFreshMart likes this.
