I like Ramirez but I completely disagree with his decision.

You are getting more than another challenger would get. Its not what you want but it gives you a title shot.
Not taking it but instead fighting a much easier opponent for less is what is making the sport leas enjoyable for diehard fans.

It makes Ramirez look afraid to fight Regis even though I don’t believe he is.

Complicating the business aspect of the kerfuffle is the fact that Top Rank does not work with Prograis’ promoter, Probellum, in essence making a purse bid the only available way to make a Prograis-Ramirez bout since negotiations between the two sides would be a nonstarter.
Interestingly Probllem wasn't an obstacle in making Donaire and Butler v Inoue.

You fail to understand that Ramirez is bringing in most of the $$$. he's been a champ before & in the spotlight longer.... 75/25% is pathetic * 65/35% is still off... Ramirez said he'd do 60/40% .... would u agree that Crawford should get 65/35% for a spence fight? yea me either, even though Crawford brings NOTHING to the table... so was Crawford afraid?
and Regis is not a boogeyman, beating a slow, confused & awkward Zepeda is not impressive who Ramirez already beat...

I think it’s a sensible duck. Prograis would win and possibly by stoppage

Ramirez sounds scared and entitled. Jose ran from Zepeda to get married, cool now this?

Prograis got these guys running from title shots.

How does 25-50,000 dollars come in between a big championship fight??! Even if you get a bigger cut on your next fight it won’t be a big fight for as much money overall so you’ll still make less. Just be honest & tell us you didn’t want to sell out to take a L

It’s a duck if they didn’t even attempt to negotiate.
This is the second time Jose has ducked Prograis.

Looks like a clear duck by Ramirez side.

'We can just do a non-title fight with a random opponent and earn good money from the live gate' is basically Munguia's approach to boxing, not a good look.

I tend to agree. But Boxingfanatic75 says if there wasn't a contract, it's not a duck.
