I agree he started way too fast and he didn't seem to have a plan B. But, after watching the fight numerous times & videos such as that one it's clear that Cotto couldn't have won under any circumstances. IMO the fact that his punches did nothing would always result in Margorito walking Cotto down and beating him down.

How was Cotto exposed? He was a proven elite fighter way before that loss, and he gave Margarito a tough fight, even though he got beaten up bad in the end. Plus only six months later Margarito got starched....it's not a stretch to think that the punishment Cotto gave him contributed to that loss.
