Comments Thread For: Usyk's Trainer is Not Concerned Order To Fight Dubois, Expects Fury Fight

Sergey Lapin, who is part of the training team for unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk, does not expect a recent WBA order to derail a blockbuster fight with WBC world champion Tyson Fury. The fight is currently being targeted for the first quarter of 2023.

Once a decent, not overly cerebral heavyweight imposes their will on Usyk, it will be over. Chisora lost a split decision, and he pretty much fights on instinct and fun alone, and lacks size. Fury is both and has size and power. Usyk is a talented boxer who saw a giant hole in the HW division, and took full advantage. If you think there wasn’t business plan with a road map heading straight for AJ, I beg to differ. It would be best if he gets the cash out fight against Fury first. And if you think Canelo finally got it handed to him, just wait to see what Fury will do to Usyk. Once Usyk fights Fury, it will be an immediate exit from the HW division, and possibly the planet.

Usyk wants this fight with Fury. That tells me it will happen and I am not concerned.

However, who are these mandatories? The politics in these organizations are a joke. DuBois and Hrgovic? What process did these joke organizations use to declare them above fighters like Joe Joyce or even Wilder, whose only loses are to the same man currently sitting at #1 of everyone's HW rankings? I honestly think these sanctioning bodies are a festering boil on the sport.

The WBA could go kick rocks with that decision. There's no way that Frank Warren would allow Daniel Dubois to fight Oleksandr Usyk before Tyson Fury because both of them are part of his stable of heavyweights and work for his promotional company.

He let Chisora to avoid Usyk so I’m sure he won’t mind letting Dubois through the back door

What are you some kind of troll or retard? What is this gibberish or rubbish that you are spewing?

I don’t get or understand your cryptic language.
Also, what the Hell does Frank Warren has to do with Derrick Chisora?

He doesn’t even promote him but Eddie Hearn does. Besides, don’t you get it? Chisora has already fought Usyk to close a decision lost

The only blocker to undesputed was Edward & Hrgovic & the Saudis put him in his place, it's on.

Who specifically slapped Hearn down about this?
