The point is the champion wants the fight with the best opponent ASAP and not 2-3 months later. This is how we want champions to behave.

The other point is this is now a pattern. Whenever Loma is in a fight he may not win, Walters and now Haney, Bob does funny business to help Loma out.

You can at least somewhat justify that with Walters. With Haney its clear hes doing this to protect Loma and screw Haney out of a possible win because its his last fight on the TR contract.

The promoters' argument is pretty clear; they want to capitalize on huge potential buys during the Cinco De Mayo period. Haney's argument that a May fight negatively impacts his training due to his religious belief is a little cloudy, because the way he carries himself is not consistent with a practicing ******. And he's fought in the past during Ramadan. Maybe he wants the fight in March because of the reason he stated, and maybe he also wants more fights in 2023. But as The Big Dunn stated, it's silly to find fault with Devin for wanting the fight SOONER.
