How would it benefit a 20 year, nationally-recognized sportswriter to put out a number that hurts his credibility just to be "biased" (not bias) towards a fighter?
That makes no sense. That isn't an opinion that people can dispute... he is presenting a fact from a source.
Why would he risk his credibility?...and can you name other instances when Kevin Iole was abjectly wrong on facts?Comment

When people sent articles and footage proving the contrary, he pretty much tried to discredit them by calling them "keyboard warriors".Comment

Burden of proof is on Iole, he is quoting a source ( anonymous ) at the moment. The same burden also lies with Rafael as his source is also anonymous.
No. Iole is not wrong on facts but his opinions are biased towards Floyd. Just read his mailbag. But opinions are opinions.
Every writer is biased towards something. I mentioned Fischer because he went up against the Ring's upper brass in his callout against Pbf since pbf now rated above Cotto in the WW division. To issue that out against your employers take some balls. Thus, I respect his opinion.
Now, Do you honestly take the 1M as a fact based on what Iole tweets?
My intention for this thread is not to take a crap on Iole or Rafael or pbf or pac. But merely to cross-verify the number. Now, whats your agenda?Comment

HBO said it will release Mayweather PPV numbers in the morning.
Schaefer hinted that the number will in fact exceed 1 million with an anecdote.
“Your colleague Dan Rafael [of ESPN.com] made a bet,” he said. “He said it publicly on his blog. He said, 'No way,' when someone asked if it would do more than 1 million homes. He said. 'No way, never,' that he would shave his hair if it did. Another guy said, ‘Would you shave your facial hair too? He said, ‘Absolutely.’
“I’m telling you,” Schaefer said, pointing to two reporters with shaved heads, “Dan is going to look like you guys.”Comment
