Just asking. I believe it did great but I see no other source except from Iole. Plus all other reports base it on Iole and therefore 2nd/3rd hand already.
Any other source other than Iole for the PPV of PBF-JMM?

I only really see Iole as claiming the number but...
The number could go as high as 1.6 million, as Kevin Iole told me last night over some back-and-forth messaging. Iole told me that a million is "definite," and says that HBO will release the numbers either today or on Thursday."

This guy will look like he was just listening to Floyd's camp or some false rumor if the number is actually at like 500k or 600k. However, the fact everyone is reporting it makes me think it has to be at least close.Comment

Just like the early Pac-Hatton returns, it's all coming from one source. I think it's bogus, and I doubt it did more than 1 mil, or even got close. I'll eat my crow if I'm wrong though.Comment

True. Plus the fact that Iole is very bias towards Pbf which is why I'm questioning the number. If it came from say ... Doug Fischer, IMO, it would be more believable. But hoping it does have a great number, it would great for the sport.Comment

Here's another boxing writer who's been doing some digging on his own:
"We all find the projected numbers stunning, believe me, and I said earlier today that I remained skeptical. We talked about it because it's good discussion. Kevin Iole himself told me that the numbers he was hearing were, to him, "shocking."
I can say this: The numbers I've heard tonight are a far cry from that 1.6 million high-end estimate."

Difference is Arum was giving those rumors not independent sources. Iole is in ties with Dana White. He wouldn't lie to help boxingComment

Keep an eye on Dave Meltzer's coulmns around next wek to the start of the week after.
Meltzer has friends in PPV, so he can numbers or at least a solid range of where ppv lands.Comment
