Comments Thread For: Yarde On Beterbiev Showdown: "This Time, The Opportunity Has Come And It Feels Right"

While lauded for his bravery and willingness to go into the lion's den, Anthony Yarde was fully aware that traveling to Russia in 2019 to take on Sergey Kovalev was essentially a suicide mission.

Beterbiev by ko. If Kovalev stopped him with a jab for crying out loud then Artur beheads him knocking his head out of the ring!

A lot of people are writing yarde off but he’s dangerous especially in the early rounds. Dudes got power. I expect beterbiev to win but hes shown vulnerability before yarde could touch him up a bit on the way there

Yardes worth putting on £30 for an upset, I'd go for a TKO ref stops prematurely

I honestly can't gauge his power because of his resume, which is full of low quality opposition because he mostly skipped UK and EU level; and he didn't manage to drop an old Kova. I'm also not sure what beating/stopping Lyndon Arthur (at the second attempt) tells us.

Basically, I think there are too many unknowns with Yarde.

Yarde is basically the LHW version of Eubank Jnr.

He looks the part, talks the talk non stop, but never delivers the goods.

He is one of those guys who believes his own hype, then has some dumb excuses when he loses fights.

Lyndon Arthur is a decent European level fighter, who beat Yarde with fundamental tactics and a solid jab.

He dominated kovalev until he gassed. That fight could’ve been stopped probably would’ve been if it wasn’t in Russia. Kovalev KOing him with a jab is more a product of his being so gassed than a knock against his chin. If he can keep his energy level high he can be competitive but beterbiev is much better than Kovalev was in his prime

Are you smoking crack? Yarde didn't dominate the fight, he dominated A ROUND of that fight before Kov stopped him.

Smith Jr, Browne, Gvozdyk ... All those guys would beat Yarde... And what happened to them?

Yarde is at Johnson, Kalajdzyc level ... Not a chance...
