I don't like to knock fighters, because they're in the toughest profession in the world, where you risk your health and even life.

But to assess fighters that are spoken of, I have to say that Berlanga is not a top level super middleweight.

If he fights better opponents than he has to date, he's going to get beaten, and probably knocked out.

100%, that fight is not competitive at all. Berlanga has all the attributes needed to get knocked out: one-dimensional, poor defense, chinny, emotional, and doesn't think he needs to improve

Here's a hit list for Berlanga in 2023, 1. Gabriel Rosado, 2. Shane Mosley Jr, 3. Daniel Jacobs, 4. Steve Nelson, (Progression Fight's).
If he get's past those four then in 2024, 5. Diego Pacheco, 6. Saul Alvarez, 7. David Morrell Jr, 8. David Benavidez, (The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse)!
Those eight fight's would either make him, or break him, but if he can beat six of them, he'll have earned the respect of some of his detractor's.
If he can beat all eight (which is highly improbable), well then that changes the equation completely, let's see how the next two year's play out.
I'm not saying that he can beat all of the eight fighter's mentioned above, what I'm saying is that those are the fighter's he should be fighting going forward.

Makes sense to go that route, although I doubt he gets past step 1.
