...why does Top Rank get a pass?

Top Rank is on ESPN and the years they been on ESPN they have yet to create a STAR/Legit Draw in this sport which is concerning for boxing as a whole

Arum has these guys fighting in the small room of MSG not only that but most of these fights are just showcase fights sprinkled in with some good fights at times but even their Big Fights don't even feel like Big Fights because again Arum keeps the cost love and put them in Small Rooms it is strange

Top Rank has the best young talent in the Sport no doubt many who will be fighting tomorrow (Shu Shu, Keyshawn, Jared huge fan of all those guys since Amateurs) but yeah where is that Crossover Superstar over at Top Rank with all this TV Time and Showcase they get on ESPN

But again Like I always post when people want to trash other Promoters, this is a BOXING ISSUE not a Promotional Issue. Boxing as a WHOLE not just Top Rank, is just not that Popular anymore. You can barely get 1 Million people to watch Boxing on Free TV...that should be a concern for ALL Of BOXING

Just the fact that's all you could come up with means Hearn has a point! 2022 was not really good in 2022! The biggest stories were Crawford leaving, and the rise of Shakur! Hopefully Shakur, Xander Zayas, and Jared Anderson, take big steps in 2023! I also like Muratalla! That's a BIG LW!
The fights were forgettable after the fact, but the fact that he made that fight and it was as massive in Australia speaks volumes, the rematch is Andy called for but you have to give the man credit for making the first one. No one else was getting Haney to the title

every time I hear Hearns name I cant help but think of his line about Wilder....... "so you lost your career defining fight because...... your gown was too heavy????"

I crack up laughing everytime I think of it. Hearn is the goods.......

Boxing as a whole is failing, but top rank did alright this year.

It's hard to respect Hearn after the Conor Benn BS - but he does have a point.

Matchroom have put on more fights and better fights than Top Rank.

From a purely boxing POV, if we ignore this Conor thing (which is very hard to do) they have been the best promoter this year.

He is always looking to put on fights tbf, whereas as the other two big US companies seem the opposite.

But the Conor thing imo is the thing that damages the profile hugely. Not bothered by the shit talking, they all full of it, just put on fights.

Eh?? Hearn taught Arum what big stadium fights were (e.g. Klitschko v AJ). Arum prefers to hide in school gym sized arenas, sticking his fingers up at 90,000 real grass roots fans in favour of Brangelina and the prawn sandwich brigade morons paying 5000 a ticket.

Because he's a control freak with an oversized ego. Don King was exactly the same.

If I'm CEO at ESPN, I'm not that happy about 2022! Crawford is gone, Loma was at war in Ukraine! They didn't even get Prograis vs. Zepeda!
