Comments Thread For: Hearn Optimistic Canelo Fights Benavidez In 2024, Shoots Down Plant Rematch

David Benavidez could be in store for the opportunity of his career but he must first defeat Caleb Plant, according to promoter Eddie Hearn. Benavidez, the highly regarded super middleweight contender from Phoenix, Arizona, is projected to face Plant in a 168-pound

I don't think Ryder, nor Bivol, are bigger fights than Benavidez! Canelo should fight Benavidez (if he beats Plant) in September 2023!

A Benavidez-Plant fight, if it can even happen given all the corporate politics in boxing, would likely not be able to take place until 2024
      This is surely an error.

In any case, Canelo should forget Bivol and 175 and take care of business at 168. So many good potential opponents there. Bivol's focus should be Beterbiev. Canelo - Bivol 2 is an unnecessary fight that just holds up the schedule.

Man would you please stop suggesting what may happen with fighters not on your network. Damn this dude is annoying as fuq! Haymon, Luis DeCubas and Benevidez Sr will decide what's best for David, not you azzhole. Canelo only ahs one more fight under you. He will decide if he wants to keep raping your company or finally come back and take his natural place in the American boxing world.

If Benevidez doesn't fight and defeat Plant, I'm not even wanting Benevidez to get the Canelo fight. Benevidez needs some sort of validation before the fight to make the fight mean something. If Benevidez folds, like so many have done before, it will be said it was because he was never very good anyway.

Why Ryder? Hearn knows the English would love to see Canelo fight so rather than make excuses like he's testing his hands on a comeback fight , which is just as ridiculous as Joshua having a 'comeback fight' after two points losses? Why not just say it as it is .They want an easy showcase fight with little chance of defeat , Hearn knowing that Canelo's name alone will sell it ...Even more Shyte from the worst promoter in the world ....Good promoters put on good fights. .....Warren had no choice as he would have been sacked by Fury as he dances to his every need knowing Fury will just walk otherwise.

Ryder for a get back fight after the layoff and surgery is a good fight, can’t hate on that, then straight to the big dogs after that starting with Bivol! Let’s gooooo

                  Canelo's future calendar:

                  May 2023: Ryder at 168.
                  September 2023: Bivol at 168 or 175.
March 2024: Plant vs Bumavidez winner.

What a great calendar. He'll create his PR in Europe, try to revenge his loss and silence Bumavidez fans. Man of challenges.

I think he is going to sign a PBC deal and fight Charlo first. Benavidez get his profile win over Plant. if Spence dodges Crawford Haymon is selling him to Canelo in Arlington.
