I don't see why Wallin should be considered for a Joshua fight. He hasn't done much since the Tyson Fury fight. The Dominic Breazeale win was a good win but it came off the heels of Breazeale getting crushed by Wilder and the other names on his resume aren't that impressive either.
While I agree Wallin hasn't fought anyone of note (other than Breazeale) since the Fury fight, it's not for lack of trying. Whyte swerved him with his phantom shoulder injury and then King Kong Ortiz team disappeared when Wallin was trying to make a fight with him.
I'd like to see Wallin in a big fight, feel like he's wasting his time (and his prime) chasing the super big fights. Needs to stay active and climb the rankings. Not sure his promoter has the resources to do that tho...
Otto needs to stay busy, seems he is just waiting (wasting) around for a big fight. He needs to take whatever at this point just to stay busy and not get rusty. The big fight will come at some point, especially if he gets himself in line for a mandatory shot at the title, stay busy and stay relevant otherwise that big fight may never come and if it does, he may be so rusty that he has wasted his chance and loses badly.
'from what I understand it is really up to AJ' ....Soooo we see it WAS....AJ who bottled it against Wilder and Fury for nearly $100m combined and then blamed his poor sponsors and everyone else .Who really cares anymore which handpicked fighters he 'fights' in his next 'business' move Anthony Joshua will always fight the easiest option ... he always has , who has Joshua ever beaten that's was a 'live' unbeaten 50/50 ? ...Not one!
Who really cares anymore.....
Apparently You do
You care enough to post a comment on every Boxing Scene Article this year about AJ
Lololololol
Fury has been saved twice in his career. The first was against John McDermott (his 7th?? Pro fight?) but was saved by a corrupt referee decision with no Judges. Even the Fury-loving Sky commentators all said that Fury lost. Then he was beaten by Wallin. The ref should have stopped Fury but he was somehow allowed to fight on with a 42 stitch gash over his eye (potentially threatening if not urgently treated) by the corrupt WBC doctor who does exactly what Arum tells him to do. Undefeated, my ass!! Not to worry, Fury can continue hiding from better opponents behind joke trilogies. I hear Schwarz and Pianeta are now the back to back trilogy mandatories for Fury.... once his fake 'stalling for time' surgery is finished. Time for some more Wild Boar meat, Gypsy Clown!
Fury on the other hand went out to fight a guy who'd knocked out everyone and in his own back garden and beat him when he was still a stone over weight and no where match fit . Joshua's people say he needs a confidence builder here ...I'm sick of hearing about the weak minded one shot pony who since little Ruiz annihilated him don't know whether to box or fight and hasn't a clue who should now train him .....'he's work in progress' ....enough of this guy now!!
Anthony Joshua is a more experienced fighter than Fury at World- Elite level.
Fighting in somebodies back yard, as a underdog is less pressure. Being the underdog is easier.
Tyson Fury has not fought at elite level skill for skill for 7 years, since he fought Kiltschko.
Wilder was a elite level fight, but in terms of skill? Wilder is not a elite level fighter. And that is not disrespect, because I rate Wilder 'Extremely highly'.
But on pure technical ability, taking away his power 'All round skill for skill Wilder is not elite level fighter'.
Most of Tyson Fury's fights have been at domestic to high end European level. That was the level of his last fight.
And Whyte has not been a World level now for sometime, arguably.
Ruiz did not annihilate Joshua. Joshua avenged that loss, what is Andy Ruiz Junior doing? What has he done since that loss? Nothing much.
Joshua is a contender now, but even still? His next fight will be against a higher level opponent than Chisora.
Anthony Joshua is not no one time fighter, he is a two time Heavyweight Champion. And he still has more title defenses than Tyson Fury.
Note: Regarding Joshua's current situation, yes it is frustrating. And in all honestly, I cannot predict what Joshua is going to do 'Joshua is not really stating anything clear'. And even though the December fight date with Fury was opportunistic behavior from Tyson Fury? Joshua probably should of taken the fight, somehow found a way to make it happen. Joshua would of gained masses of credit, just for taking the fight.
He won't take Wallin, they're looking for a crash dummy to get Joshua's confidence back. Breazeale or Whyte wouldn't surprise me coming from Fast Eddie.
