It's true. They ended the round 10 secs earlier. I can't decide which was worse, early end of R12 in the first Joshua-Usyk fight or this. Typical British BS.
Did Dubois get an extra 10 seconds in the first round?

It's hard to say exactly what it is that Joe Joyce did to Daniel DuBois in their fight, but whatever it was, it seems to have had a profound effect on the young heavyweight.
DuBois, who had been on an impressive run up until that point, looked tentative and hesitant in the fight, and was eventually stopped in the 10th round.
Whether it was something Joyce said to him in the lead-up to the fight, or something he did in the ring, DuBois hasn't looked the same since.Comment

In defense of Dubois he might have injured his leg here. It's hard to say exactly what it is that Joe Joyce did to Daniel DuBois in their fight, but whatever it was, it seems to have had a profound effect on the young heavyweight.

Still, that's no excuse to allow cheating on his behalf.Comment

The 12th round of AJ vs Usyk 1 didn't end early.
The broadcaster's timer, which you see on the screen during the round, was off. The confusion was caused by the ref, imo. For some reason, after the bell rang and the fighters came out of their corners, the ref stepped between them and kept them apart for nearly 5 seconds before telling them to begin fighting. The broadcasters must have started their timer on the ref's signal, but the round was already 5 seconds in by then.
Put a timer on it and see for yourself. 3 minutes exactly between the bell to start the round and the final bell.
I'm not condoning favouritism in UK fights. I hate that shit wherever it happens, but it's not just a UK problem. It happens all over the world, and anybody who isn't plugging an agenda will admit that.Last edited by kafkod; 12-06-2022, 10:06 AM.Comment

Even if (and only if) you're right about the first round, the stoppage with Dubois ****ing it after the bell should have been a standing count and Dubois deducted a point, if not a DQ... At the very least make it a no contest...
