I bet Smith fights Igor Mikhalkin, Dominic Boesel or Pawel Stepien.

Be a pretty decent fight if it gets made depends tho if Buatsi is gonna get a shot at bivol in the spring next year because that could be likely now bivol won't be fighting canelo again in may an won't get the undisputed fight probaly that early cus beterbiev is wrapped up fighting yarde late January. If I was Buatsi id see if that bivol fight is really there to be made because in terms of financials i dont see it being that much difference hed probaly get paid more To fight Smith but it's all about his incentive

I agree with you that young fighters on the way up are shortchanged by their management padding their records, obtaining a high alphabet ranking and then fighting for a belt against an elite level fighter without ever having been tested.
But will the bivol-beterbiev be even made this year? Beterbiev is fighting yarde an bivol will probaly have a fight in the spring(possibly against Buatsi) an he might take the canelo fight again in September an if he does that would leave beterbiev fighting Smith back end of 2023. And if it does happen the undisputed fight probaly won't be till the back end of 2023 then when does smith get his shot? 2024? so no one could knock him for taking a pretty big domestic fight against Buatsi because tbh a undisputed fight against bivol or beterbiev it's not some huge pay day that people think it is unless they take it to somewhere like Abu Dhabi again we're the princes over there pay alot of money for these shows. Bivols stock has rose an beterbiev is hailed by the boxing fans but still there not massive draws

          I can see it happening.

Apparently they tried making it before, but Callum wasn't up for it as he felt he was World level, and it didn't do much for him, but with the titles tied up, it makes perfect sense.

          Fingers crossed.

Makes too much sense so probably won't happen.

That said and a side this is a big problem today this whole ''no point in taking a risk'' sort of thing like what good is it fighting bums and taking on tune ups that are just going to get bombed clean out in showcase fights. How is that going to prepare you for a Beterbiev, a Yarde, a Bivol?

This is exactly why Yarde lost when he stepped up because of this whole no point in taking a risk stuff.
Completely agree with this. Also its no risk for Smith, Buatsi looks sharp and lands big shots but I actually don’t think he’s a huge puncher.

Callum Smith on the other hand is a frightening puncher at 175 and he’ll win with in 6 rounds

Yes, call me cynical but I just can't see Hearn allowing these two to fight each other.

Are you getting a cut or something? sheesh. You have been so conditioned by the political machine you are acting like his manager. Unreal. So far he has fought nobody at 175, he should be fighting some top guys. Your attitude is why boxing sucks these days.
