It’s a beautiful thing, isn’t it? The very embodiment of excellence, greatness. They said the same things about Kobe and Jordan. I read a book some time ago called Talent Is Overrated. Among the examples the author cited were studies comparing the average musician in music school and virtuoso performers. Not surprisingly, the difference across the board was the great number of daily hours of practice virtuosos performed versus their less “gifted” counterparts. The greats only make it look easy because they’ve paid their dues above even the elite.

Yep the true greats in anything were totally committed to being great, every breath they took was to be great they were driven like the devil was chasing them, Ive had some great animals that had a massive will to dominate, just no quit in them they would blow up first, I guess its the same raw materials in a great sportsman having a burning desire to dominate the task in front of them, one thing for sure it's rare.

Rare as diamond dust. If it weren’t, everybody would be great.

In one of the videos I watched, Zab told stories of how they would work in the gym for 5-6 hours and Mayweather would then go out for a ten mile run. Judah also said that Floyd would call him up at 2 or 3 in the morning and say, “Let’s go out for a run.” I believe Mayweather had great natural talent, and with his level of dedication…fuhgetaboutit.
Fluid was literally born in boxing. He is boxer since at his 5. He doesn't know anything another. He can't even read.

If his boxing facilities were in others, we could watch much better fighters.

Like breeding raceshorses many have great bloodlines only a few have great inheritance, you cannot teach greatness you can only guide it, it comes from deep within.

No doubt Floyd had advantages most don’t — i.e. he started extremely early and had great tutelage. But Mayweather could’ve strayed from his path to greatness very easily. It’s a very long, hard road to the top. It’s monotonous, time-consuming, boring and painful. And while Floyd may not be well-educated in an academic sense, he’s no dope. He took his gifts, worked like a man possessed and made some shrewd moves to become, according to Forbes, the sixth highest earning athlete of all time.
