David Benavidez may have beaten Lemieux, but that does not mean he is a solid boxer. He showed many flaws in his fight against Lemieux and Canelo may wish to capitalize on them. Canelo is a much more experienced and skilled boxer than Benavidez and if he can exploit those flaws, he should be able to win the fight.
