Could it actually be a bad thing for a million+ people to have ordered Floyd-Marquez?

oh please, Ive heard that before.

people said that no one would watch a Floyd fight again after 2.5 million people bought DLH-Floyd, and it seems like hes doing just fine...

I didnt find that fight boring, there was little clinching in it and some masterful moves by Floyd, though he could have gone in for the kill.

most people seemed happy with it. people like dominations.

My bad, thought you were implying that it was boring and therefore boxing will die because of it and nobody will ever purchase another PPV event. lol

This didn't do anything negative to the sport at all.

which is exactly why MMA is generating more fan base and the casual fan is finding a more exciting way to watch a combat sport. Not some **** talker that runs around potshoting his way with a totally out classed smaller LW.

Reed I think it is a bad thing for the following
          1. that means that a lot of casual fans watched a fight that in most peoples eyes was not entertaing and one sided
          2. for those fans who were on the fence between UFC and boxing this just pushed them over to UFC.
          3. THe casual fans are the ones that generat the money for the sport and they are going to be turned off on buying another mayweather fight

I saw the fight with my girls family and they are all super super casual fans. They thought the fight was **** and they thought mayweather was a ussy for picking on a smaller slower guy. They said they would neer order another Mayweather fight. I had no influence on what they said I was very interested how they viewed it.

          On a side note Reed
I will never watch another big fight with Casual fans
          EVER!
they have a 60 inch plasma and surround sound
but I had to sit 4 feet away from the tv so I could hear?
          WTF???

I get what your saying, hardcore fans and quite a lot of casual fans would appreciate technical fighters... but a lot of casual fans like to see a brawl I guess, like fighters going toe to toe and stuff. So I get what your saying.

But, on the flip side it would also be a pretty good thing IMO, cause it at least shows that loads of people were interested in a fight many were ****ting on in a recession and on the same night UFC had a card on, it would at least show that loads of people are interested in it, and would prove how much Boxing is to the public.

I guess it could be either I guess, I am just throwing ideas out there really.

First of all to be fair we cannot compare boxing to UFC ppv wise based on Saturday, Mayweather-JMM against Belfort-Franklin would be like UFC having Lesnar-Mir against Jermain Taylor-Winky Wright.

I see what you are saying, but no.
If nothing else, the viewers saw how damn GOOD Floyd is, which is very important when he faces Pac. It will be the two best fighters in the sport going head to head.

The fight was not boring, it was a boxing masterclass, and people who do not understand that are the types of fans who do not appreciate the sweet science.
