See I always will point to the Diaz fight, diaz landed on manny a lot to the body specially but diaz lacked the power to make manny change his strategy which is putting pressure and punching the shiet out of his opponents. With cotto he wont be able to do that.

Roach says he welcomes cotto's exchange therefore if this is true these guys are going to come out swinging!!! Hatton tried to do that to manny but cotto is a much better boxer puncher than hatton.
I agree 110% Cotto is miles away from Hatton in terms of boxing ability and a more solid body work. The problem is I haven't seen Cotto throw his patented left to the body, left to the head combos as much anymore, he has shown me that he's the killer he used to be in the past. The make or break of this fight is how well Manny can take a shot from a solid Welter if Cotto were to land some of his body shots early.

It's all about statistics. Manny has speed, that's a given, but it has been proven over and over in his many fights that it is both an opportunistic speed, capitalizing on his opponents mistakes, and it is an undisciplined speed, in which he compromises balance and stance for the chance to land a quick shot the might or might not get through.

Cotto has some speed, nowhere near Manny's mind you, but enough to captalize on those same mistakes that Manny makes. He proved it with Paulie and Shane, and Cotto's boxing abilities far surpass that of Diaz, who didn't do so bad as to say it was one sided, as well as those of the Oscar De La Hoya that pacquiao fought on that night (not the younger ODH, lets make that clear so I dont get rants about it).

On Nov. 14, both fighters will have the opportunity to make their statement in the ring, and in this honest poster's opinion, I see Manny's speed being nullified by a boxer that has...One) the chin to take most of manny's power shot...Two) The ability and experience with speed prone fighters mess up Manny's timing in the ring...and Three) The overall boxing skills and adjustment capabilities to pressure Manny into a relying solely on his speed, which in the end will cause him to make crass mistakes that can cost him the fight.

Now keep in mind, all these things mean that Cotto will have to fight a perfect fight, or it's a lost cost. He can't backpeddle or he hands Manny the weapon of his own destruction...and he has to keep those gloves up, while using massive amounts of head movement to keep an uppercut from ruining his night. Honest opinion, and Nuff said.

Team Pac acted like the biggest bunch of b*tches after negotiations trying to make Cotto defend his belt despite Miguel already conceding money and weight.
