If Joshua gets himself back in contention for a title fight? Then yes, the fight should happen.
But for me, the major rivalry of this heavyweight era has been Deontay Wilder vs Tyson Fury.
And even though they have fought 3 times before, I still think the 4th fight between them is the biggest fight that can happen in the Heavyweight division.
The match up between Deontay Wilder & Tyson Fury has layers of depth that no other competitive rivalry has 'In the Heavyweight division'. It has passion, spite, danger, inspiration, total violence.
The media and certain folk in boxing, I have noticed? They are trying to make out that Fury vs Joshua has that same kind of dynamic 'But it does not'.
So for me the match up between Joshua & Fury, is actually overrated. People are trying too hard to make out, it is something it is not.
Truly great match ups, are organically created. Even when people try to deny them, they still seem to blossom or should I say erupt.
People complained about the potential 3rd fight between Fury & Wilder. I watched masses of boxing fans, trying to deny the fight 'And mock the threat that Deontay Wilder posed to Tyson Fury'. Regardless of all of that, the fight still materialized and happened.
The fact of the matter is, there has only ever been 1 fighter who has threatened Tyson Fury's dominance. There has only been one fighter, who has pushed him to the brink 'And that fighter is Deontay Wilder'.
It is astonishing to say that, but is a fact. And I know people, especially Fury's hardcore fans do not like to admit this.
Yes there are other big fights in the division. Big fights because they have statistics associated with them 'Usyk vs Fury for example'. But on a pure competitive level, I don't think they are in the same category as Wilder vs Fury etc.
Overall the division and this era of Heavyweights, although in terms of pure ability 'I don't rate the era very highly'. But in terms of competition, and rivalries 'There are and have been multiple great fights'.
Even Tyson Fury vs Derek Chisora III is good match making, and at this stage of their careers 'The action of the fight may be not what people are anticipating'.

What are you on about? AJ’s career is over. His next two fights will be about nothing but dollars.
AJ will get blasted into oblivion by both Fury and Wilder.

A part of me hopes we’ve seen the last of Fury vs Wilder, however, everything you wrote is true and after beating Usyk and AJ, there is literally no one for Fury to fight except Wilder who would still be a threat no matter the outcome.
So yeah, spot on.

Wilder looked frail and shook before Helenius took a dive. Man needs to beat Ruiz Jr convincingly before we can accept he is back proper.
An explosive style and two vicious beatings ain't a recipe for aging well at 37yo.
