It’ll come down to each others chins. Who can take it the most because they will both land eventually. If both their chins hold up boots by decision. However, no one’s been able to last vs Vergil and that means something.

I agree with Garcia to a point. I do believe Ennis should be the favorite right now, he's a switch hitter with power that's tuff for anyone, add the fact that Ortiz had that issue with his body a few fights back. That said, Ortiz is most certainly a real live dog if fully healthy, I would say 55-45 in Boots favor, but that fight would come to chin, who takes shots better. At this point that's the major mystery about these 2, chin, because none of the other players want to fight these guys I just don't know what kind of chin these guys have. One thing I don't agree with, is why the sanctioning bodies don't have either of these guys as mandatories for either Spence or Crawford? Thurman a "mandatory" would get wiped out by either of these guys, and there's others out there who are highly ranked that are nowhere near as good as Boots or Ortiz. Spence and Crawford have held this division hostage for way to long, it's time for the organizations to make Spence and Crawford defend against these guys.Sosay likes this.

Ortiz would stop Ennis. Ennis doesn’t have the stamina to outfight him, and he’s not a good enough boxer/mover.
Jaron can hurt Virgil, but it’s a different league here, just like you’ll never see Marquez stay down. At a certain level these guys have too much heart. Either their conditioning has to fail them to the point they quit. A bodyshot is required to keep them down, or they have to be knocked cold to stop fighting.
Besides not putting Ennis’ heart up there, Ennis’ lesser stamina will see him crumble to Ortiz. Getting walloped on the inside will speed that process up.

As much as I’ll like to discuss what a potential match up would be like, it’s so disheartening as a boxing fan to know this has little to no chance at happening—-at least not now. Boxing politics are ruining the sport. I do wonder if a purse bid was ordered to face each other, would their teams allow them to fight…

It would be an amazing fight. Ortiz is volume and pressure and power. Ennis is greater one-punch power and solid movement and he changes up a bit. I would not want to bet money on this one because it would be a war and I'm not sure who would be left standing but if it didn't end in a KO, both guys would be hurt in this one I believe.
