What I meant to say is that Mosley should be the man that people want to fight and beat for status andmoney not the other way around. Pac and Floyd should be running after
Shane which was the case with Floyd some years ago but
now Floyd has elevated and now Shane is on the outside
looking in. Me personally, I hope this fight happens BUT if
there is anyone to blame for it not happening is Shane.

Mayweather is a phony and transparent boxer who selects his picks very, very carefully in order to not lose. Mosley did the right thing by calling him out and doing what he did last saturday, it was the least we could get after a boring, one sided, mismatch fight. Im preety sure that alot of people (my self included) thought that those 5 to 10 minutes was the best thing that happened that night, and the world was there to see floyds true colors. Whaen he saw Shane calling him out all he had to do was agree (cause its the only thing he can do to showing the world that hes not scared of fighting a real welter) but no, he oened his eyes as wide as he could, tryied to avoid comfrontation. Thats the Floy that everyone love, a boxer who is scared to fight a real opponenet!!
This is opinion is so simplistic as to be laughable. And it displays a street-corner mentality that betrays a lack of knowledge about the boxing business, and business in general.

When has a top fighter ever, EVER agreed to a fight on the spot? Even if do DO intend to fight the guy, if you are the one with negotiating leverage, why would you give it away by making an on-camera commitment three minutes after you just fought 12 rounds?

Has Shane been trying to pursue a fight with the best WW's, or has he just been looking for a big payday?

And you repeating "38" over and over only serves to underscore that - AT 38 - Shane still can't handle his business and manage his career appropriately.

Maybe I missed something but I thought that Roy Jones agreed to fight Tarver on the spot when Tarver called him out at the press conference or whatever that was.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Pointing fingers, I'd say Hopkins was the instighator and Max completely failed and came off as a total jackass.
I think Max was just doing his job by asking the real questions and calling Floyd out when he was trying to avoid answering them or contradicting himself. As for the incident in the ring from what I heard the fight was not much to watch action wise so the after fight finger pointing match was more exciting than the actual fight. I heard people talking Monday about work not about the fight but about Mosley and Floyd getting itno it....Lefty

because these 'true' boxing fans have a low grasp of the mechanics of the real world, and what it takes to make it work. you are correct AlHaymon, no top fighter with his place in history assured, or even his career assured, is going to take any fight on the spot. theres too many negotiations, and it is easier said than done. but since any fan of Floyd can't be a "true" boxing fan, this sort of thing is just unimportant, right? maybe true boxing fans think boxing works like the pro wrestling circuit. who knows.

otherwise, good article. i also wonder how Shane's inactivity somehow became Floyd's fault. i also think B-Hop's urgency to instigate doesnt come so much from his own willingness to land a big fight, but more because if Shane fights, he also gets a big payday, as does Oscar. so its in his best interest to secure any GBP fighter a bout with Mayweather.

it isn't for commentator MAX KELLERMAN to "call Floyd out". he should realize he needs the fighters, the fighters don't need him. again: the name on the marquee was MAYWEATHER, not Kellerman or any other HBO Boxing employee. i paid my $50 because I wanted to see/hear Floyd- it isn't so much that Kellerman asked questions, its that he cut Floyd off and implied heavily that Floyd 'owes him' a certain respect and some certain answers. its so offensive, i wonder how noone else has brought it up.

WHAT A SHAME IT IS THAT WE HAVE WRITERS NOW THAT BELIEVE DOWN IS UP AND UP IS DOWN!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS WHY BOXING STINKS the best should face the best in order to prove theyre the best ,not handpick the most profitable easiest fights ,like if what these guys earn has ANY BEARING on fight hungry-fans,please.pac isnt the best at welter niether is fraud jr. face it people a 38- year old man named sugar is!!!!!!!!!nd shane vs any of these dudes would outsell any of those other lame ass BORING
HANDPICKED BOUTS WE TRUE FIGHT FANS DONT WANT TO SEE!!!!
Speaking of ducking, didnt shane straight out say he doesn't want to fight paul williams because of styles.

Really how the **** Pac handing picking cotto. Cotto and Pac both are top rank fighters. Both are far bigger draw than shane. Shane being despearate for a fight with pacquaio and lying to the press about the fight being accepted didnt help him either for that fight.

Its not our fault that shane wanted to big money fight and ducked paul williams, and then turn down a fight with Berto, clottery, cotto rematch.

And since you want to call some fighters cowards.

Any fighter who has to cheat are the biggest coward of them all.

You guys are being ridiculous. And ignoring facts.

FACT: Mosley was already in the ring with other GBP execs as ALWAYS, not because he wanted to bumrush Floyd and beg for a fight.

                      FACT:
Mosley didn't interrupt the interview, Floyd CALLED HIM OVER. See above.

FACT: Mosley at no point was disrespectful in anything he said. In fact he was very respectful.

Simple stuff here. Mosley even tried to quell the situation when the temperature went up. Blame Hopkins for instigating. Blame Max for being an arrogant ****** but stop trying to use this as some excuse to explain why Mosley doesn't deserve a fight or is a beggar.
