Pac isn't an ATG, but he's up there, just as Floyd is. However, no one wears the crown for handpicked opponents like Mayweather did late in his career, and like Crawford seems to be wearing these days - except for his decision to face Porter.
When Pac picked quite a few of his opponents, he was viewed as an underdog, or at least considered to be entering a competitive fight (Margarito, Cotto, Marquez, Thurman, De La Hoya, etc.).
While it's okay if a champ picks a bum, once in a while, Floyd did it continuously very late in his career until he retired. Robert Guerrero, Berto? Please! Give me a break!
I remember when Floyd faced the likes of a Diego Corrales, and an in his prime Manfredy, and Jesus Chavez, and somewhat competitive, Zab Judah. But then he started facing opponents that he knew he could beat, and the general boxing public felt the same way; there was no element of intrigue. Fighters who dare to be great, leaves an element of intrigue and wonder - sort of like what a Crawford VS Spence matchup would leave. I'm sorry Floyd didn't do this.
And he's not helping his cause with all of these BS exhibitions. Ali never came close to being so embarrassing.
