This kind of simping is embarrassing. "America" didn't reject Floyd, some people just didn't like him. His fanboys get too deep with it, probably because deep down they know his talk was bigger than his sporting achievements, which is why they always resort to talking about money, PPV numbers and calling people "haters".

Floyd's done. If you liked what he did - great. We all have to find meaning in an indifferent universe.

Had he beat all the best guys on his resume in their prime, he wouldn't get shi'ted on so frequently.
The strategic retirements and constant talk of PPV numbers got old too. His main "legacy" has been to influence other boxers to argue over money and who's the "A-side" and to have certain fans defend such nonsense. It's very boring.

Tell me a fighter who took as many strategic "retirements" as Mayweather and used PPV numbers as a reason to swerve fighters whilst claiming to be the The Best Ever?

            BS.

Until Floyd beat De La Hoya, even Larry Merchant kept criticizing the man.

Rewriting history over Canelo and Pacquiao.

            Dismissed his destruction of Marquez.

America only paid to see him lose, then made excuses when he won.

He's recognised as the best of his generation by virtually everyone - he's just not liked as a personality. That's his problem, not anyone else's.

                But that's not it.

This is a 40+ year old man, and despite a pretty high workrate, was standing in between rounds, he was dancing, he's holding up the ring card, and a hallmark of his for years: talking to the commentators during the fight.

It means he's not only aware of exactly where he is at any given moment, but it's incredible that he can hear them so clearly. I believe it was the Guerrero fight where he actually even corrected Jim Lampley on something.

Which means he's thinking about other things while clearly comfortable in the ring with someone who is trying to hurt him.

You take guys like Joshua who are constantly worried about getting knocked out, tense and on edge, then they take an L and mentally shatter.

It's sad that America rejected Floyd, a guy who represented America in the Olympics and continued to entertain while beating everyone he said he would. But it's good to see international fans, the real ones left, flock to see him do his thing; it's obvious what a real star is when a Mayweather exhibition draws more money than 10 of Crawford's fights.
How long have you been going steady with Floyd ?
Did you purchase the ppv ?
Nothing wrong with what he’s doing , especially if someone wants to throw money at him ; we’d all take it
But don’t come here and tell me that as a Boxing fan , i need to purchase some chitty fughin boxing exhibition just cause he was a great boxer some time ago
By the way , notice where all these fights are taking place
Kiss is still considered the best rock outfit out there although they haven’t done anything special for the last 20 years

He does it cause he’s still desperate for the limelight. There’s a part of me that feels sorry for Floyd. There’s a famous saying: “the richest man is not who has the most but who needs the least”. It’s pretty sad that a multimillionaire 45 year old still craves for attention to feel valued.

You’re right it’s near impossible. Floyd is definitely guilty of being selective with opposition but he unquestionably has an ATG resume.

SRL is probably the closest to it. Prime Benitez 38-0, Prime Duran undefeated in 8 years, Prime Hearns 32-0 but then he did marinate the Hagler fight for several years. He still beat a very good version of Hagler though who was undefeated for over a decade himself but Ray definitely waited him out until he showed signs of slippage.

This is the first Floyd exhibition I can't get behind. What the hell is Deji? Joshua introduced us to a whole new world of effeminate black men. They call them "British".
