WBC executive secretary Mauricio Sulaiman said last Saturday's fight was nothing more than both fighters getting a big payday and the event was very misleading to the public because Juan Manuel Marquez had no chance to beat Floyd Mayweather Jr. He was outraged that nobody, including Marquez's people, were protecting him when Mayweather weighed-in at two pounds above the agreed limit of 144, noting that Mayweather refused all requests for a weight check on the night of the fight. It was all for the money. There is NO way Marquez could have won the fight. From the day it was announced we already knew who will win the fight. Marquez tried his best sure due to his obsession on Manny Pacquiao in fact I think he is willing to take on the Klitchkos just to be able to land a 3rd fight with Pacquaio. GBP as always goes for the money nothing more nothing less.Comment

This Sulaiman guy is obviously ******ed.That fight wasn't won by power but pure boxing skills.Marquez only connected 12% of his shots even when he was 6 inches from Mayweather,So what does weight have to do with it?Comment

Apparently greed and ignorance escapes no Sulaiman. He is only saying anything because the WBC wasn't involved. I would love nothing more than to see the WBC to disappear from existence. I feel that way for all sanctioning bodies, but the WBA and WBC are killing the sport faster than anything else.Comment

Of course after the fact he never had a chance. Just like if Pac doesn't win, after the fact people will say he was too small etc etc etc. Especially when and if he fights Mayweather.
I thought they cleared these mismatched fights with the "DIAMOND BELT", making it OK to fight mismatches/catchweights......
Contradiction........Comment
