So I just watched the Beterbiev-Gvozdyk fight again

Watched the Beterbiev-Gvozdyk fight again more carefully and I realize Beterbiev is a very dangerous opponent for Bivol.

Bivol may seem like the superior boxer on paper but Beterbiev will often take 2-3 punches just to land 1, and whenever he lands it hurts his opponents. He also throws his right hand from some very weird unorthodox angles and times it extremely well.

Gvozdyk put Adonis Stevenson in a coma but Beterbiev ate his punches like candy and beat his ass down. Granted Gvozdyk doesn't have Bivol's composure and defense but still.

Here's some highlights of the fight

Beterbiev is better than he looks. I'm on the fence when it comes to him vs Bivol.

i don't know why people think Bivol fights anything like Gvozdyk. Dude is a walker. he walks around the ring. he doesn't bounce. I see 0 footspeed.

and he was trading with Beterbiev punch for punch. Legit TRADING power shots LMFAO and getting hit flush.

I was surprised he lasted till 10th round. It doesn't speak well for Beterbiev's chances against Bivol at all. Bivol fights complete different.

Beterbiev is relentless he keeps coming and coming, Bivol ‘s chin and resolve will be tested in that fight.

I think Bivol wins though but anyone who thinks it’s an easy fight for him doesn’t understand boxing.

I see Beterbiev-Bivol playing out somewhat similar. I’m not sure Bivol has the physical tools to keep Beterbiev off for 12 rounds. Gvodzyk actually utilises lateral movement more than Bivol does too, Bivol often tucks up and sits behind the high guard rather than pivoting. He’ll definitely have to move more vs Beterbiev. Bivol does have more resilience than Gvodzyk though, I think he’ll be able to back Beterbiev up a lot more than Gvodzyk did.

It’s a fascinating fight, I can make a case for both but I’d lean towards Beterbiev if it happens soon. Obviously age could play a factor too.

Regardless of styles how will Bivol respond over rounds as Beterbiev continues to touch him. I mean even a clinch you have to hold both off his arms. In the Smith fight he showed he can punch with his back against the ropes with no leverage and still drop you. People appear to think it's some foregone conclusion Bivol will move and 1-2 for 12 rounds. Vegas thinks it's simply an age and injury thing based on odds.

It's Beterbiev's ability to generate KO power in a space of only a few inches that makes him so dangerous and difficult to defend. Totally the opposite of Zurdo.

            I think Beterbiev stops Bivol

You’re so emotional over this fight man.

Just enjoy it instead of being such a fangirl.

I actually had Gvodzyk the slight favourite going into the Beterbiev fight. Think the oddsmakers did too. I was so impressed with Beterbiev that night.
